Bufo Alvarius

I stayed for 5 nights and there was no cleaning, not even to empty out bathroom waste bin. Shower pressure was very low, and water wasn’t hot — which is fine if you’re hot and looking to cool off but less pleasant on cool, rainy days.

Good location, very quiet

Our room was comfortable and clean. We were nestled in the treetops and watched the birds and clouds race across the sky. The facility feels like a sanctuary in the bustling city

Showers and kitchen area

The room was small but clean, the bed very comfortable, including AC and drinking water. Kitchen, although outside quite well equipped. The pool looked nice, but was closed during our stay. Pool was closed for maintenance. The bathrooms are outside and open, so there were many bugs and mosquitos. Generally many many mosquitos. The location isn't great. Quite far from both city center and beach. Be aware that they're doing bufo ceremonies there which is the most hallucinogen drug in the world. We did read about ceremonies/therapies but didn't reseach what it is any further. Generally we didn't mind, but there was someone screaming for his mom and for help during that day, which was quite irritating. On the plus side no one bothered or pushed us to participate.

Comfy bed, nice indoor and outdoor space, plenty of spots to relax No hot water in the shower on one of the evenings, but not a major problem!

One of the best Hostels we’ve ever been! Great value for money! The rooms are clean and comfortable. The AC works perfectly. The staff is super friendly! Especially Steven is so supportive and nice to the people. Everything was perfect!

They did not offer breakfast any day I was there Lack of communication and assistance from reception. My room was entered while I was in the shower. I made aware to the front desk. They stated they would “look into it” and get an understanding of why. And I was told they were “checking to see if my room was clean” the housekeeping. But I could not check in upon arrival until a room was ready and hour after i got there, I had to come back later. So this was false and not valid. PLEASE BE AWARE. I have valuables and personals out in my room. Energy of the place was very stand-off and guests are not controlled. Yelling and talking all night long that does not allow for guests to rest comfortably, considering this happened both nights I stayed and it was tolerated until 3am every night. I did reach out to management and they did not respond until the day well after I check out the hotel. It’s such a same the place has potential it’s just ruined by the people who own it. A couple who leaves their kid in the reception area all day on their game system around strangers and unattended, it’s very tacky and unprofessional. I will not be returning nor recommending.

They didn't switch on the steam room when its supposed to be working. Didn't try to help and support.

I loved the setting, very lush and protected from the street visually. The next door bar was very loud at night that was my only dislike

Super comfy bed. Very serene. My Bufo facilitators were the most comforting and supportive people I could imagine. Life changing.

The location is simple and clean. The location is 15 mins walk from the city center. It is not very near the beach.

Nice place to stay in a good area Not a lot

The location was great for everything. The ceremony and facilities like sauna and cold plunge the offered were great for healing and purging out the night life lol.

Cosy room. Perfect for solo travelling. Nice location, quiet en peaceful. Toilet and bathrooms are basic. Swimming pool looks a bit dirty. A bit strange to offer healing ceremonies and ancient medicine in this kind of setting. I think it would be better to either be a healing sanctuary (and locate more in nature) or a hotel and not mix both.

I booked the Gold and Platinum packages because of the offered medicines like Bufo, Kambo, and mushrooms. If the time feels right for you, I highly recommend giving it a try. It will change your life forever. The stay was wonderful, the people were kind, welcoming, and always available. They truly listen, provide great support throughout the process, and create a safe and welcoming space for deep transformation

A nice room in a retreat center in Tulum. Beautiful area, full of plants, pool, sauna, outside kitchen, drinking water available. Next to the main street, where you find a lot of good restaurants. You can also book a personal ceremony there. Nice people there. I really enjoyed the sauna! And you are close to cenotes and ruins (cca 15 minutes by car). I am very sensitive, so I can feel the energy of others and all of the healing processes happening there, so it was little bit difficult for me, but it's a personal issue.

Nice and clean place in central Tulum Walls and doors are too thin, poor insulation as you can literally hear people in the room next to you like they were actually sat in your room. To get to your room you have to walk up an outdoor staircase. It was difficult to get my luggage up and down the big staircase

Exceptional

Staff superfriendly, very helpful, really nice environment, quiet but fun, very central. Very clean even if shared bathrooms. no one ever tried to sell me their treatments. only minor improvement points is that bungalows dont have much soundproofing BUT there is not much noise in the retreat anyway.
