The hotel was very clean but not updated at all. Wish they would put a bathroom by the pool. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was okay. Was hoping for more choices.

The advertising of the property seems intentionally vague. While some of the property is a hotel, some of it is motel style, which is the room I received. The first room I was given was not clean and had broken parts to the mini fridge, run down chairs and table, and a disgusting carpet. When they moved me to a 2nd room, the fridge still had broken parts, the luggage holder was broken, the tissue box and ice holders were broken and not clean. No apology from management came forward. Maintenance was helpful in correcting the fridge and luggage holder. Housekeeping was terrible. Replenished cups, towels had to requested to the front desk every day even after leaving the a note on the door. The last day they simply tossed the pillows on my bed. Before leaving, the people in the room near us had the sewage back up into their sink. Finally, while they advertise a picture of beach access with a wooden walkway it is currently taped off because it has not been repaired due to beach erosion. They tell you to go to the left or the right of it which essentially has you walking through the dunes which is bug infested and against the local beach regulations unless they have a waiver. This “hotel” is not a three or four star hotel. I would give it a 1-2 star. Go elsewhere. They will never have my business again.

The room had a clean smell when we entered. The air was on. The room was cool. The hotel was just steps away from the beach. I loved the parking. Hotel was near shops and restaurants. Will book here again.

Very clean, friendly staff

What i liked most was the proximity to the beach. What i didnt like is the pier was damaged in a weather event and was not immediately repaired.

Good 👍 parking and cleaning up

I liked the parking. I liked the beachfront view but the room was not worth the price it cost.

I planned a last minute one night trip to tybee and found a decent room at Desoto. The staff was nice and helpful. The shared spaces seems well kept. The only issue I had was the cleanliness of the room. My initial inspection of the room revealed that they do not clean under the mattresses (crumbs, hair, etc. under mattress) and they did not clean the bathroom well (still had hair and used rags/soap from the previous tenant in the shower). I think the house keeping just changed the sheets and emptied the trash bins and called it a day. I would say it was a relatively nice room for a last minute trip and reasonably priced compared to other hotels, but... you get what you pay for. Regardless, if I pay 200+ for one night... I would at least expect the bathroom to LOOK clean and there not be filth under the mattresses. Overall decent hotel to stay at considering budget and time frame, but the house keeping needs a little work.

Unfortunately the beach access was not available because of erosion on the way down to the beach but not any fault of the hotel. We had to access the beach a block down the road. Breakfast was above average but the coffee was good. I would rate 4 out of 5 for the price paid and amenities. Keep in mind, the Tybee Island is a tourist destination and will never be reasonably priced during tourist season.. still a good place to stay.

But the main reason we went was a success. The Perseides meteor shower was awesome. :)

Worst hotel I ever stayed at, I don’t recommend at all. Cleanliness was not apart of this hotel’s agenda at all. Grim , filth , dirt and visible dust built up on the air conditioning unit. They didn’t even try to clean the room. And have the nerve to charge over $300 a night. I hope this place goes out of business.

it was a little dated and the room was small

This was a very clean hotel and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This hotel has free parking for their guests and it's right on the ocean. Their continental breakfasts were very good and lots to choose from.

Great location - short walk to the beach, great swimming pool, and a block from a couple of fantastic restaurants! Room was clean, spacious and quiet. Staff was exceptional - especially Kirby? At the front desk. She gets our vote as Employee of the month! She was friendly, helpful and went way above and beyond.

The staff were super nice. The water smelled very bad. Not enough water pressure to take a shower. Ten cable channels, nothing for kids to watch. Bad wall plugs, wouldn't hold the plugs in the wall. Was not happy, paid 630.00 for 2 nights. Would not go again.

Wonderful ocean front property on Tybee, it’s not fancy but the hotel has been kept well. Friendly staff, breakfast/coffee fresh and complimentary in am’s. I have stayed here several times as a close getaway from Atlanta.

Location was good, staff friendly and responsive. Trash in-between bed and nightstand from previous tenant. Shower was clogged day one, corrected same day. Carpet in room was gross and out dated.
