Coco Garden Resort Okinawa

We had the most wonderful stay at Coco Garden Resort earlier this month (March 2026). We stayed two nights while visiting friends in the Uruma area. The resort is in a garden-like setting on a hilltop overlooking city and water views. Rooms are arranged around the garden and pool and a central building which has the reception desk and a restaurant etc. I believe they provide free parking though we did not need. Our room was very large, perfectly clean with everything we could possibly need. It was very private, quiet and restful. There is not a single thing to complain about, other than maybe the TV channels were all in Japanese and we don't know Japanese? Most important signs were in English as well, so no problem at all. We tried the on-site restaurant for breakfast only (included) and it was of a high standard. The best part were the staff. The very helpful gentleman who checked us in (sorry did not note his name) and the gracious Touyama who guided us from there, explaining about the resort, taking us to the room in a golf cart, carrying our luggage, and so much more! She was the perfect host, and a fond memory of our stay in Okinawa. Need a car to get around (or taxi). TV channels are all Japanese.

The room we booked had a bad smoking smell, after claiming it, we got a different room, which was very beautiful and did smell good. Personal was very helpful and friendly. The strict rules that many things were only available for coco club members. So, it was not possible to eat in one of the other restaurants the breakfast, only in the coco garden hotel restaurant. Very bad was, that the onsen in the partner hotel was also only available for the coco club members, for which you have to stay 3 nights at least. We didn't know this and had only booked for 2 nights. I can understand it in high season but it was low season and the weather was still too cold for going outside into water, so beach and outside pool were not possible. That in such cases, the onsen was not made possible to use even for offered extra payment, is not understandable. As there is not much to do if you have no car, it was a very disappointing part of the trip and will cause, that we will next time search for some other hotel which is more flexible and which can guarantee a good relaxing time without sticking to their not customer friendly rules.

Surrounded by trees like being in the woods. Rooms were clean and did not hear the folks on the other room. Easy to call for ride to the front desk. Staff was courteous and attentive. Dimsum buffet was outstanding and delicious. Breakfast was full of choices and relaxing. I loved everything about the resort.

The resort has extremely friendly and efficient staff, whilst the gardens are beautiful gardens. Breakfast and the Dim Sum dinners were exceptional. Lack of choice for lunch and no room service.

Coco Garden in Ishikawa exceeded my expectations! The staffs were extremely friendly, very kind. I am a vegetarian so I was bit worried but the manager even accommodated special meals for me for both breakfast and dinner. The rooms were extremely spacious, filled with extremely comfortable beds, and a separate, large bath tub, dressing area and a toilet. The resort is located in a suburb of Iha, but the property itself is extremely peaceful and offers good view of Ishikawa from it. It gives you good access to Ishikawa, and many convenience stores close by, with the San-A shopping center a mere 10 minute walk through the nice streets of Okinawa. If you are in for a long stay, you will have club coco access and then you can even access the property of Renaissance resort, with free shuttles to it. You get private onsen, lounge and beach access. From the pricepoint, its definitely value for the money. Will definitely stay again if I visit Okinawa in the future. Its nestled up in Iha, so it might be hard to find on the first day.

One of the coziest, most comfortable hotels I have ever stayed at. The «garden feeling» is great - and the food is excellent. The Coco benefits for long stays are really nice as well, and worthwile staying a bit longer for. The staff is amazing! While the associated Renaissance Hotel is great, and it is very nice that one can use so many of the commodities and join in activities, I sometimes felt a bit sorry for the animals there that seem to live in rather (too?) small enclosures. Not a direct problem of the coco garden resort though - here the feeling is much nicer with all the amazing butterflies around.

Very nice atmosphere and garden. Quiet and authentic. Not overrun by tourists The buildings are a little worn out on the outside, however inside they are very nice. Also the tennis court could use a makeover.

The setting of this resort is magnificent with sweeping views of Uruma City. The food choice is limited to zchinese which is a bit disappointing for a visitor to Japan but understandable with their principally zzjapanese clientel

We didn’t like this property, we absolutely LOVED it! We spent 5 amazing nights full of incredible and exciting treats and surprises, such as free e-bikes or manicure rental, karaoke room, snorkelling, kayaking, free lunch, a soap as a present, free laundry… All these beautiful touches just kept coming! One day it was an invitation to try midnight okinawan sweets, try making dim sum or have a drink… We especially LOVED the ryukyu yoga teacher and the possibility to try delicious okinawan dishes. If Coco Garden is on your shortlist, book it immediately! You will have an unforgettable stay full of beautiful memories. The hotel rooms are a bit older but they manage to keep them spotlessly clean and comfortable nevertheless.
