L'Esplai Valencia

Close to the old town is very convenient This is not a hotel, it is a bed and breakfast, without breakfast. We searched for a hotel on Booking and we got this. It does not have a reception after 3 pm. The air conditioning was not working so we could not sleep well the first night in addition to the fact that the windows do not have good insulation and the street is very noisy. On top of that, although we had reserved for two people somehow they said the reservation was for one, and when we showed up they charged us 60 euros more because we were two. Costing us 145 euros per night. Other things, the shower doors do not close well, and the shower floor was dirty. Bottom line that was not a good experience.

Location, cleanliness, staff support and responsiveness

The location: perfect, just around the corner from the cathedral square.

Everything was perfect. The room was beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the host was extremely kind and hospitable, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. Nothing — everything was excellent.

The room was very quaint and well kept. However, when we got in there were dirty glasses from the previous tenant and when the staff came to service the room on our second day, they turned off the A/C which we explicitly left on so we could return to a cool room after walking in hot weather for most of the day. The hospitality at the hotel is awful. The hours of the front desk are so minimal that it makes it nearly impossible for a traveler to get in contact with them during the stay including for checkin and to complete payment for the stay on time. Getting responses from the hotel via email are also challenging especially when traveling internationally with minimal cell and data coverage.

The location was excellent. The building was excellent. We liked the room a lot. The host was very good and included breakfast one day with our rate. Didn'l like the bed. It was small for 2 people. The bathroom was a dissappointment. The shower doors did not work well and did they did not close properly. In addition, the drain was slow and the water accumulated in the shower pan and spilled to the floor. A real fall risk.

The location could not be more perfect. Super clean and super comfortable. The internet actually works very well and the AC is strong. Stylish and with a soul, very non-corporate. And most importantly, the staff was very nice giving me a warm welcome and taking a lot of time explaining everything about Valencia. I felt like at home!

Our stay at L'Esplai could not have been better! Our apartment was spacious, decorated beautifully, and immaculate, which was wonderful for our four-night stay. The location was fantastic, being less than a five minute walk from Plaza de la Reina and the Cathedral, and all of the sights were an easy walk away. And (this may sound crazy!) the building has an elevator, something very welcoming to mid-70s travelers lugging their bags through Europe! Africa, the host, serves absolute delicious breakfasts and is a wealth of information about Valencia. This B&B is a winner! Absolutely nothing

Everything!!! I can't say the accommodation was comfortable... Because this is not an accommodation but your Spanish home when you are away from home. The room is beautiful, decorated with love and wonderful details. Immaculately clean. The bed is fantastic to sleep on. The location is phenomenal!!! The crown of all this are the people who are your hosts here, Africa and Sergio. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything and see you again for sure ♥️ There is nothing here that you might not like. Except you have to go home.

Location was great! Loved the small balcony. Near cafes, restaurants and main square.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious and light and there was daily cleaning. The decor was lovely and the bed was extremely large and comfortable. Sergio and Africa were really welcoming, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were all off a central, communal lobby area where there was a fridge for you to use and store your refreshments but also complementary teas, water and coffee. It was a lovely cosy area and the place where breakfast was served. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay in this property again when visiting Valencia.

We loved the location of the property, which was walking distance to all major sights. The room and bathroom were large and comfortable, but the bathroom could have used a little more light. Africa was a wonderful hostess, providing restaurant recommendations, as well as a map. There is a refrigerator/freezer available for shared usage. I would recommend this property to others.
