Hotel Ungheria Varese 1946

Old school hotel that keeps up with its renovations and updates while maintaining its traditional allure. No nonsense, super clean, everything worked, very helpful and kind staff. Location worked for my needs but it's not central in Varese. I personally did not like the pillows - luckily one of them was a little taller and softer. A friend traveling with me noted the same issue. Maybe they would have had options but I did not ask for a different one. Otherwise everything was perfect.

The hotel is not situated in the city center. It was about 25 miutes walk on foot from Varese station. However, there is public transportation just outside the hotel.

Friendly welcome, Clean rooms, fresh bedding and towels daily. Paying extra for scrambled eggs and fresh juice at breakfast, not a great car park (extra cost) with very steep access to underground, poor location for the town, noisy road.

Everything is great. We're so happy to stay at this hotel. The location of the hotel is very good. Especially great for those who want to go to Switzerland. Staff very welcoming.

Friendly staff, delicious breakfast. The room was very clean and silent as it was located to the backyard. Supermarket in walking distance. The ev charging station was not working with the recommended app, but it worked with the Swiss charge app.

The location was perfect and was easy to get around (Lake Maggiore, Milan and other local sights and has a direct fast train to Malpensa airport) with a good public transport. My room was was lovely and had a quaint balcony. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Hotel Ungerhia 1946 Varese. n/a

This hotel offers rooms with charming wooden style filled with various furniture pieces, with exceptionally comfortable beds, fresh sheets, and spacious bathrooms. The staff was nice and helpful. The TV was rather old and lacked streaming platforms, the Wi-Fi connection was poor and there was no cutlery provided in the room (also our friends' room was missing fridge and electric kettle).

Three person room good. Clean. Basic. Extra €15 for a pet. Says there’s parking onsite but the parking spaces are painfully small unless you have a small car. Says EV charging on site but it was cordoned off. We parked in our allotted space but couldn’t get out of the car on the drivers side. Other guests asked us to move car even though they found have got past and out wing mirror was smashed in the process. They then left. Expensive stay!

The environment was enjoyable and impeccably clean, making it a comfortable and relaxing place to unwind. The breakfasts were fantastic, with a variety of delicious options every morning. However, really exceptional was the service provided by the staff. They were always friendly, approachable, and incredibly helpful in resolving my situation. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Exceptional

The hotel team are really friendly & nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is clean and good value. The breakfast is great. The hotel is on a bus route to the station, 5 mins away, with lots of onward connections to Milan / the lakes. A small help would be a blackout curtain as light does come into the room at night.
