Staff was very friendly and helpful with several arrangements. The grounds and the rooms are very charming.

So charming! We enjoyed stepping out of the hustle and bustle in Venice to the quiet neighborhoods of Lido. We loved this place so much we are definitely coming back for a longer visit! The staff was warm and welcoming, breakfast was bountiful and the gardens and courtyards were inviting and beautiful!

If you're traveling for the beaches on Lido, the location is great, but if you're traveling to mainly visit Venice, there is a bit of a walk to and from the ferry each day. It's only 15-20 minutes but is tough if you're lugging a heavy suitcase.

Great property

Beautiful, historic property. Lots of art and cool, eccentric style furniture and decor. The gardens are lovely and rooms are large. Great breakfast buffet. Less than 5 mins from the beach! The shower for my room was interesting. There was a tub with a hand held shower head, but no where to mount the shower head up high. And there was a slanted window the one side you couldn’t get wet because the wood would rot. We were also told there was a complimentary boat ride to Murano. While it was free, there were strings attached which we were not made aware of. The boat takes you to a specific glass facility where you are pressured to buy glass and the only way to leave is by boat taxi. Would have been nice to know as I probably would not have used the boat in that case.

Loved the design and decor. Super clean. Breakfast buffet was great since it had both European and American breakfast options (ie eggs, bacon, sausage, etc). Loved the beach section close to the hotel and location. The hotel does not have its own beach access or discounts although very close to the beach. Beach facilities are full/public price. The hotel will reserve a spot for guests day of at the full public rate but paid only in cash (if you book on the beach directly you can pay by credit card and ahead of time). If you plan on going to the beach area near the hotel the rate per day is 100 - 150 £/euro per day this summer

It was so beautiful! It was like a botanical garden with a pond and amazing landscaping. Roses everywhere!! We loved being able to go to the beach and collect shells! We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and I hate to say it was now very appetizing and WAY overpriced. If you eat there check out the menu first. Breakfast was very good.

Phantastic atmosphere at the hotel including the nice bar and also around - rooms stylish in the old style - so meeting the expectations from the pictures Bathroom very old style and not comfortable - hairdryer very simple and not working properly - instead of separating the toilet, only the washing area was separated - bath tube with shower-curtain not covering all - everything very old left in a not very nice style instead of making it more fancy fitting to the rest - breakfast was very basic and a fair quality

Sehr charmantes Hotel, old but gold

The property is beautiful, quirky, and full of history. The room was very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice. We stayed for 6 nights and when weren't exploring Venice we relaxed at the hotel. We wanted somewhere quiet to stay, if this for you then I would recommend this hotel. We will go back if we visit Venice again. It is very close to the beach, but it wasn't really beach weather when we went. We took a water taxi there which cost 186 euros andstopped almost in front of the hotel, but took a taxi (10 euros) to the Allaguna water bus which cost 15 euros each directly back to the airport. There is then a 15 minute walk inside of the airport building to get to check in desk. If sight-seeing then I would recommend getting the official Venice city pass with transport as this gave us skip the line entry to everything we wanted to see plus transport on the buses and vaporettos, a. Grand Canal tour, a 3 hour trip to 3 islands (not really enought time for any of them but a pleasant ride - vaporettos also vidit these islands) and a 45 mins Gondalier ride! We paid separately to visit the Basilica San Marco on the Cathedrals own website in a timed slot which meant we skipped the line and paid less, and did the same with the Guggenheim. I hope you enjoy your stay. Unfortunately we did not enjoy the evening meal at the hotel. It was the most expensive meal we had in Venice but it was lovely sitting out in the garden, the staff were very pleasant to say we live in a small town the quality was average. The tuna with honey was sickly sweet and green vegetables were lacking, plain well cooked (grilled preferably) would have much nicer. I do have to say we live in a small seasude town with a twice yearly food festival, and twenty restaurants. We are also good cooks so food is perhaps more important to us than perhaps it would be for others. Other things we didn't like which were beyond the hotel's control were the weather, which was extreme rain and thunderstorms (though I liked the lightening - we went in the 2nd week of Septemberand this is unusualfor this time of year), mosquitos (we were badly bitten - take a protective product with you, though you can buy at the local store it may be too late by then), and we were without hot water for 3 days (the basement flooded and the plumber couldn't gain access).
