I give this property a rare 10. Staff are awesome, including Sig. Fabio and Andrea who registered me. Quiet location. The patio on the Grand Canal is the hidden gem of this property, a nice place to relax at the end of the day and evening. Room with a view was outstanding. Breakfast is great value and the ladies in the breakfast room are so gracious. I walked to the four corners of Venice from this central location. Easy luggage holding area. I will never stay in another property in Venice! Absolutely nothing. Perfecto.

    We had a great stay

Great location. Historic but with modern amendments. Alli was amazing - he brought our heavy lugfage up steep steps, brought chairs out to the balcony for us without being asked, and served us drinks. The room was comfortable and clean with A/C. Location was perfect.

The location and views were amazing. Close to San Stae water bus pick up- line 1. Breakfast staff were wonderful. The front desk staff were not all very friendly. The room has air conditioning supposedly, but stayed extremely hot making it difficult to sleep.

The location was great, right on the canal. The rooms were smaller than we expected

Great view of the canal and an excellent location. The historic building is fascinating and a unique experience to stay in. Front desk worker was rude and the room we were promised months ahead was not given to us. Sparse furniture within the room and there was a cobweb in the corner. Bartender lacked expertise and the drinks were subpar.

Great view of the canal. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff were very welcoming.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The location is beautiful, right on a canal, offering an authentic Venetian atmosphere while still being peaceful and comfortable. The building has the charm and character of traditional Venice, yet the rooms feel fresh, impeccably clean, and very well maintained. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and comfortable throughout my stay. One thing I particularly appreciated was that the hotel preserved its historic character without any of the musty or worn feeling that can sometimes be found in older buildings. The staff were genuinely kind, welcoming, and helpful, making me feel at home from the moment I arrived. The breakfast room was elegant and full of character, and the breakfast itself offered fresh, high-quality products with a good variety of options. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and one of the highlights of my visit to Venice. I would happily stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, charming, and comfortable Venetian experience. Nothing to dislike

The property itself is beautiful with lots of Murano glass details. From 8am-3pm one day they didn’t have electricity. Which they did warn us about for breakfast time change, but not that we wouldn’t have water and I did not realize with the heat how hard it would be not having AC. Thankfully I woke up early and showered, told the cleaning staff I didn’t need my room cleaned for the day, and took a nap in the afternoon. While I was napping almost nude because of how hot it was, a male worker came in my room. It woke me up out of my sleep and really freaked me out that a man was coming in my room when I was sleeping. So I locked up my stuff, got dressed, and got out. When I told the guy at the front desk later that night what had happened, he was very kind and understanding and told me to talk about it in the morning with the manager. I thank that guy for his kindness, because after I was met with unbelievable rudeness. When I came downstairs in the morning to talk about it with the manager, I was met by a rude staff member instead, who didn’t even get me the manager. He told me he heard what happened and it was just an accident. I told him that as a woman solo traveler, it’s really unacceptable for a man to be coming into my room when I’m sleeping. That really no staff should have been going into my room whether I was there or not, especially after I told cleaning not to clean. He told me he “knows” the guy and he’s a good guy. Ok? I didn’t say anything about his personality, I don’t know him, all I know is a man came in my room while I was sleeping and after I told cleaning staff I didn’t need cleaning, so no one should have been entering my room. And that as a woman solo traveler, that is a very scary experience. This 6ft+ man told me with all the attitude in his chest, that it would have been “equally” as scary for him if a man came in his room while he was sleeping. Right. So I can assume he doesn’t have daughters and if he does, I feel awful for them.

Only the standard room was available when booking so the location of the room was near to the kitchen which was very noisy in the morning. The breakfasts were good but the breakfast room was extremely small and cramped.

    Liked it all

Though I'm now back stateside, part of me will always remain on the wonderful patios overlooking the grand canal from the ground floor and breakfast room. Everything else is secondary to that. However, the staff was wonderful, the on-site bar was well stocked and afforadably priced, and the room was everything I needed as a solo traveler. Oh, and the place dates back to the 14th century and was the home of a famous Venetian artist, Giacomo Favretto. No big deal. Nothing, really. Ok, fine. The shower/tub combo was a little small and cumbersome for me to use, but that's the smallest of complaints. It was truly a wonderful stay from start to finish.

Beautiful hotel one of the best rooms we have ever stayed in. Amazing view of the grand canal. Great breakfast and nice bar. Excellent location Nothing. It was a little expensive but worth it

The location was very central and easy to get to from the train station using the Vaparazzo. It is nicely decorated and has a good breakfast included in the stay. It’s quiet for the most part though our room was very close to the dining area and when we would leave our window open at night, it was easy to hear people on the street in the mornings. For the price, it wasn’t as nice as you would hope. Very simple room, though nicely decorated. Has AC though we couldn’t figure out how to turn it on. We didn’t need it though as it was cool when we were here. No elevator but the staff will carry your bags up the stairs for you which is very nice.

Perfect location, charm, just a lovely property. The only drawback is no elevator. But the location and charm is worth the climb!

  • Engine customer May 2026

This hotel is beautiful. It is boutique, with all the charming fixtures of the old world. Showers were great with good water pressure. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Location was great. View of Grand Canal was gorgeous. Overall fabulous. We had one staff member who wasn’t very helpful, which normally I would overlook but after travelling for 10 days I was just wanting a nice interaction.

Beautiful space, wonderful staff, great breakfast. About a five minute walk through the maze of tiny Venice streets from the San Stae vaporetto stop and a fifteen minute walk to St. Mark's.

Loved my beautiful, spacious, and stately room with large windows opening onto a spectacular view of the Grand Canal; Also appreciated the deep bathtub in a spotlessly clean bathroom. The staff was gracious and warm, and the decadent breakfast far exceeded expectations! It was, without question, the tastiest breakfast I have ever been served in a hotel, and the bonus was being able to enjoy it outside on the terrace, boat and people-watching. I also appreciate the concierge offering several recommendations for how to best spend the day. nothing.
