About Hotel San Moisè
Just a 5 minute walk from Saint Mark's Square, the Hotel San Moisè is housed in a 16th century building overlooking the canal. Its annex features a tranquil private courtyard and a garden. The San Moisè's classic Venetian rooms provide modern conveniences like satellite TV and tea/coffee makers. Each room has a tile bathroom with a bathtub or a shower, and a hairdryer. At San Moisé’s front desk, guests can pick up free tickets to the Venice Casino, as well as a free international newspaper. Opera reservation is carried out commission-free. During the summer, drinks are served in the courtyard. A large breakfast buffet is provided in the characteristic dining room, which features canal views. Both of the hotel buildings are located 215 yards from La Fenice Theatre. The Vaporetto for Venice Santa Lucia Train Station leaves from the San Marco Stop, just over a quarter mile away. Location is very good in my opinion. The staff was very kind, Aldo was very welcoming in the reception. We were contacted prior our arrival and offered transportation services. We did not need this but this is of course appreciated and welcoming. The property appeared as an old Venetian palace, converted to a hotel. I liked the charm. Our room was “family room”. Ceiling is high and the room was large enough to fit us 5 (youngest one sleeping in same bed with parents). Beautiful windows and even a balcony overlooking a canal. Condoled a boats were passing through right below the balcony. This was truly an experience! Breakfast was overall ok. Prosecco was a nice touch :) While there is certainly charm in truly old buildings, it is good to note that this property is not recently renovated. If someone expects moderns touch and all polished interiors (and exteriors) - better go somewhere else. Having glassware in the rooms instead of paper cups would have made difference. While the breakfast was rather good, the breakfast room was not so nice. Also, coffee was a huge disappointment- Nescafé from a machine. This would be a place to level up. There appeared to be a coffee bar in the breakfast room, with proper coffee (espresso) machine but there was no one serving.

Location and Value for the money. But you get what you pay for. Night receptionist has no interest for the guests. Disdainful behavior and impatient in every interaction. Made any simple question or request (such as a corkscrew, or ice) seem like a painful conversation. He totally affected negatively the experience we had from the hotel. Also, the bathtub wasn’t clean when we checked in. Lastly, the hotel is at an area subject to flooding almost every night of our stay. Other hotels provide plastic bags for the feet, or elevated walkways, but not this hotel. That particular night employee from above was completely indifferent and unpleasant to our concerns about leaving and entering every night with the water above our ankles. After an uncomfortable exchange, he begrudgingly gave us thrash bags to cover our feet, as if we were asking for something extraordinary.

Great location! Very walkable to most things you would want to see. Additionally, the breakfast was great! I would absolutely stay again.

I liked the location. The breakfast was good. Also the room was very quiet. The kettle was great in the room. The room and the floors were really cold. Did not like that my kids clothes had been repacked. The shower made the floor wet - did try every way.

Location was great, minutes from San Marco Square. The view from the room was amazing, perfect canal view with balcony. You couldn’t ask for a better view. The room was very large with high ceilings. There was an amazing chandelier in the room. Nice breakfast as wells The only issue was accessing the electrical outlet by the bed. There was furniture that blocked the access.

The location is super if you want to stay 2 minutes away from Piazza San Marco and pay a VERY decent price. The room was very charming. It was clean, very spacious for a family of 4. Even though located in one of the busiest and touristy areas, it was on a side canal and therefore quiet. The breakfast was excellent. A lot of options and even though we could not have it outside (winter), the room was quaint with a view to a canal. The staff was very nice. The hotel was not fully booked, and they could have given us a room with a view, but it was okay.

The hotel was my favorite part of Venice. We did have to bring our room key to reception every time we left but honestly it made the place feel even more secure. The view is AMAZING. Breakfast was good lots of options! Staff was friendly. It took us a while to find our map took us to the wrong location a few times but that’s not the hotels fault, just double check before you walk the wrong way with all your luggage. I would certainly stay here again.

Facilities were comfortable — dated. Breakfast was outstanding. We had to ask for the heat to be turned on because weather was cooler than expected.
