What lovely staff! So helpful and friendly. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Great air con and plenty of hot water. Good breakfast. Great location that is close to the centre and quiet overnight. First impressions were misleading. It’s a much nicer hotel than late night arrival indicated.

The location was excellent. Close to everything The air conditioning was not properly working.

The room was dirty, and the bed was so uncomfortable that it caused back pain. There was almost nothing provided in the room besides towels, very small shampoo bottles, and soap bars. There were no tissues, no hair dryer, no lotion, no iron, no coffee machine—none of the basic amenities that hotels usually offer. As soon as you enter the hotel, there is a very unpleasant odor throughout the entire building. On the day of our arrival, the elevator wasn’t working, and the staff member at the front desk asked us to carry our suitcases up the stairs ourselves.

The property location was great. The room was nice except there was no air conditioning for 3 days. (Italy rule.)Windows open allowed in mosquitos which ate us alive! Street noise was hard to sleep through. Unless they offer a better solution I won’t be back. Staff was so nice though just didn’t understand. No air. Government rule. Terrible situation because of mosquitoes. 80 degrees in room with windows shut. Had to open.

Loved this hotel! The location is perfect, close to everything and with a restaurant next door and a coffee shop the other side. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. We had a beautiful room with a gorgeous bathroom and it was spotlessly clean. Our room was exactly what we hoped for, it was decorated in Venetian style with a chandelier and windows with views over a lovely square - it was just perfect. We didn't have the breakfast as we wanted to have room for lunch but it looked great. They also looked after our luggage for our last day while we went out for the whole day as our flight was late evening. Would definitely return to this hotel. The only thing we would have liked was a tea and coffee in our room, if there was one we didn't find it. There was a fridge though which was useful.

You need to be very carefull when selecting hotel at venice. This one was pretty good. Heating, hot water, normal bathroom. Breakfast was ok but there is no hot dishes and breakfast room is very very small. Location is very strategic since it is short walk both for rialto and san marco square. When I arrived there were a lot of hairs in the bathroom.

The location and friendly staff were the most positive aspects of our stay at Hotel Scandinavia. The rooms are very small, the bed was old and lumpy, the floors were inclined(higher on one side and lower on the opposite), we kept stumbling on a folded chair(?!) they had in the room, there were no sockets(i.e: for charging our phones). Also, the shower has no ventilation. So you basically have a 3min timer until you can't breathe anymore. The Booking.com photos are very different/inaccurate from the room we stayed in. This is a very old hotel (old furniture, holes/lumps in the bed, "ghostly" doors, iron key locks, narrow stairs, loud floors).

Would have liked a bigger assortment for breakfast.

There was a lot of mosquitoes in and gnats in the room. We couldn’t even open our balcony doors because we were afraid of letting more in so we kept them closed during our stay but bugs kept getting in somehow. And the room was very small. We couldn’t open up our luggage anywhere besides on the bed.

The location was decent, and the staff were absolutely great—very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was amazing and definitely a highlight. The room was quite small, and the beds (and pillows) were uncomfortable (very hard). Unfortunately, the bathroom had a significant leak, which we reported, but it wasn’t addressed during our 3-night stay. The view from the room was also disappointing. Overall, the stay felt a bit overpriced considering the issues we experienced.
