Wonderful hotel. World class old European masterpiece. We liked everything. Water taxis were so convenient and easy to manage.

We have been coming for years but this year was different. Felt very disjointed, staff not friendly only a few (breakfast staff was incredible) Valentina in room service was not friendly at all. Did not feel luxurious, felt cold and empty. Extremely rude female lifeguard, no bedside manner, front desk staff doesn’t say hello unless you approach them.

This was our 4th stay and the longest one, 11 nights. There is a reason we keep coming back, simply this hotel is wonderful and the staff superb. They all make you feel so welcome. We just admire how detail orientated every single person working there is. The concierge staff is there to help you with everything you ask and a big smile. I just hope that may be the shuttle hours could be extended by an hour in the evening. That would avoid rushing in the evening to make the last boat.

Beautiful hotel and facilities! The breakfast was amazing! The staff was very nice and friendly! The hotel provides a free shuttle boat to go to San Marcos. The beach was already closed for the season and the view was blocked by a tarp.

Locatiom My husband ordered spaggetti tti con vongole and it was the worst he has ever had! Unfortunately he could not even eat it and had to send it back. We were extremely surprised at this being right on the water.

The staff was very welcoming and hospitable. We were a party of 4 with 2 rooms. We appreciated the staff ensuring that our rooms were near one another. The concierge was very helpful with dinner reservations and water taxis. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, amazing, and delicious. None

Everything was excellent. At this hotel and wherever you are in the hotel all the staff members make you feel welcome. The breakfast is fabulous and the location could not be better. The taxi service by boat to San Marco square is also a reason to come back to this hotel The dining restaurant is not very romantic. Too much light and therefore many quests go to the center of the town for diner.

We were assigned a top-floor room that was quiet (without anyone upstairs) and we had a nice walk-out balcony. THe weather was cool enough during our stay (in late July!) so that we were able to open the balcony doors for fresh and cool air. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfy; not too hard and not too soft. The breakfast buffet was outstanding in variety and quality and Donatella kept the staff organized such that we never waited for anything. She was terrific! And the pool was very nice; the area was large and it seemed there were lounge chairs and umbrellas available for everyone. The water shuttle to San Marco was convenient! The beach cabanas were absolutely not worth paying for. We left ours and returned to the pool which was much better. From the pool it’s easy to walk to the sea if you would want to swim there but the pool was better (except for occasional misbehaved children).

The location is on the Lido, and the hotel has a free boat that takes guests to and from St Mark's Square every half hour throughout the day. The Excelsior is on the beach allowing for both sunbathing and culture in the same day ! Nothing springs to mind.

If you’re looking for old school luxurious Venice this place is for you. Beautiful grounds and lovley staff, this hotel exudes old school wealthy Venice and its wonderful. It’s lovley. Great value for money

Beautiful and historic hotel. Rooms spacious and comfortable. On the beach and with a 30m swimming pool, gym and a great bar on a terrace overlooking the sea. The staff are wonderful and the food excellent. Shuttle boat to Piazza San Marco. Swimming Pool opening hours: 9am to 7pm. It would be great if it opened at 7am or even 8am, 9am is really late. We would have liked to swim before breakfast.

We were given an upgrade to the junior suite facing the sea which was fabulous. The breakfast was amazing. Location superb. The hotel is beautiful and so iconic. Wonderful to be so close to the sea. The complementary regular boat to San Marco was an unexpected bonus.
