Hotel Locanda Canal

The location. The lady from the breakfast was very nice. The room furniture and everything are really old and unusable, the conditions are for 1900 years, not for 2026. It looks like they did not invest any money or upgrade the hotel and the rooms since 100 years ago. The breakfast was also very poor. The reception staff were not very kind.

Liked the location. Complementary breakfast.The staffs were very nice, they even helped to lift our luggage to first floor. Helped in keeping our luggage for 10hrs after we checked out. Room was dark, and less air circulation though the AC was there. Not sure all the hotels in Venice is like that. No lift.

Location was good. Front desk staff was friendly. Extremely small, uncomfortably so. No elevator. Narrow staircase that would only fit one person easily. Shower was about half the size of a cruise shower, not exaggerating! Breakfast was fair, yougurt, can fruit, stale pastries. Watched them put away and pull out the same food into cabinets each day. Breakfast staff wasn’t rude, just not overly friendly. Talked on her phone the whole time. Bed was fair, not horrible. Felt like maybe it was just a boxed spring.

They give a kettle , no cups, no coffee. I booked a queen bed they gave 2 single beds..which kept moving all the time

Great location, helpful staff, and good breakfast. I really enjoyed the little balcony where I could watch the gondolas on the canal. While it was central to everything, it was on a very quiet canal so noise was not an issue. No real negatives. There were stairs to reach my room but staff was there to help with my luggage.

Location, air conditioning, cleanliness

I loved that it was on a quiet street away from hustle bustle but short walk to all the tourist areas. The AC was also the best we’ve encountered in Italy. Could use linen updating.

I had a lovely single room with a patio, that overlooked a canal. Every day I could watch the gondolas go by right below my window. It’s a lovely historic building with elegant charm. It was literally a short walk to St. Mark’s Square, but was in a quiet location. Everyone there was very helpful, with my questions long before arrival right up to departure.

Only the location. Room was small with negligible amenities - no coffee / tea equipment, cheap, sparse soap / shampoo. Breakfast was extremely basic and sparse in an uncomfortable awkwardly crowded room and never ready at opening hour. Place settings were not set up ahead of time. Were not enough chairs or tables for the limited number of guests on site. Coffee available only by request.

Good stay for what we needed, had to walk over to the sister hotel due to no staff at the front desk, breakfast could’ve been better
