Great location, close to the Santa Lucia station, good neighbourhood, amazing staff

I asked to register at 10:30 pm. It wasn't a problem, but later they sent me a message saying that they couldn't be. It wasn't a problem, but it's a little confusing.

Close to St Lucia station, walkable, easy to find, room was ok, a bit of mould, so opening the window would help to breathe better, the rest very clean and safe. There is a lift, so very helpful. The staff is amazing.

Awesome place to stay while in Venice, the location makes it great so you can take a break during the day while keeping a busy sightseeing schedule or as a safe place to stay even if you are out late. The staff was lovely and they offer free baggage check in. The locks were very simple (fairly unsafe specially for a solo traveler) and sometimes did not work, everything else was good though.

Amazing and staff so friendly I didn't have a locker so it wasn't so safe for me

It's great but important to note that you can't get in past 12:30 am until the morning so you have to get back by then

Good location, hospitable front desk staff, affordable, and there was an AC and a sink in my private room. The main complaint is the noise. The building is very old, the doors are extremely noisy, and the cleaning staff make a lot of noise while cleaning the bathrooms. If your room is close to the elevator, like mine was (number 42), you’ll hear the elevator door bashing constantly, the same goes for the bathrooms. I’m sure that the elevator noise could easily be prevented with some protective padding inside the elevator cabin. The noise from the bathrooms faded around 1 AM, but the cleaner started cleaning the bathrooms and slamming doors around 7 AM, which left me with 6 hours of sleep. There is also a curfew that I expected to help with the possible noise, but it turned out to be a nuisance, rather than an advantage. If you come for the Film Festival in Lido di Venezia, it’s quite restrictive since you have to start going back around 10:30 PM to make it back. But I knew about the curfew so it’s really not that big of deal. I only wanted to warn other travelers.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hostel is in the perfect location - a 10 minute walk to the train station and very accessible to the rest of Venice. The building is set up very well for the guests. There's a kitchen, a rooftop terrace and a living room / study room. I stayed in a 3 bed (without air conditioning) and the room was very comfortable. The ceiling fan was powerful enough to keep us cool at night. Plus my room had views of a canal! Finally, the staff here were so lovely and very helpful. I have recommended this hostel to multiple people already! Nothing!

Staff were super kind, location is fantastic. Kitchen availability was great especially with being able to leave food in a fridge.

There are people to help with anything you need in the lobby. The rooms were clean. So were the shared bathrooms. The property has shared fridges and laundry facilities on site. They allow you to store your luggage for free. A decent location, not too far from the sites. It was a college dorm room so it was sparse, no TV, but it still has everything you need. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the area and people coming in and out made it noisy.

I loved my stay at Ostello Domus Civica. It is a really nice hostel in an excellent location in Venice. It is very clean and truly a great value for the center of amazing Venice. The entire staff is very helpful and nice as well. I received a very warm and friendly welcome from Rebecca and you really feel at home here. It was all good

It's not fancy--it's a hostel--but totally serviceable and clean. Single user hall bathrooms were clean and plentiful. Bedrooms have A/C. Staff are a real asset--very friendly and extremely helpful. Near train station and easy to get to. Rooms are basic but that's to be expected.

Good location Room was very dark and depressing and the AC didn’t work. The shower was a closet with the toilet inside and nowhere to put anything. Awful. I ended up leaving and staying somewhere else, even though they would not refund my money.

Beds are not that much comfortable and too much sounds from street also there is no AC

It is what it is . A hostel. Great value for a very expensive city, especially for a solo traveller.

  • Engine customer Sep 2025

Free language storage before check in after check out. It is very noisy. There is no soundproof walls, door etc.

  • Engine customer Sep 2025

Good location, nice terrace and kitchen The space overall feels very neglected, walls are stained, the rooms are very crammed up, furniture old not in a good way, mattresses very old and springy, contacts were not accessible because they were covered with furniture
