Hôtel & Spa des Gorges du Verdon

Did Not enjoy our stay The Air conditioning, remote did not work. I sent a message at about midnight since we didn’t get in till 1030pm and I kept waiting for it to cool off in the morning atfront desk accuse me of not knowing how to use the remote for the AC . insisted I had opened it, which I did not. Should’ve been given a credit for the first night- since it was horribly hot and very unpleasant didn’t sleep . Doesn’t seem to be any staff at the property overnight. Stayed in five other places during our trip and I-didn’t seem to have any problem in any other place that we use the same type of remote. For a/c. Overpriced for what it offers. I had book two nights - we decided to leave, and they graciously reimburse us for the second night that was already prepaid. I think though we should’ve been discounted for the first night that was not at all pleasant for 250 euros.- you expect to have a pleasant night sleep, and at least have staff that’s available to handle a situation that arises in the middle of the night. It appears they received my message, no one responded at midnight to rectify the air-conditioning issue. I understand things like this happen, but I think the right thing to do would’ve been to substantially discount that first night since it was unbearable to sleep leaving the glass door open for the night was not an option because they were a lot of insects flying around .

The restaurant/bar was very nice and had a lovely sunset view. Tasty and creative drinks, and main areas were decorated for the season (pumpkins, fall drinks menu). Some of the staff weren't the friendliest, and it did feel a bit like we were putting them out by staying there. Our room's shower was see-through and in the main room (not behind a door or in a separate bathroom), so not ideal if traveling with family. The main area was much nicer than the room itself.

We loved every single thing from the second we arrived! We arrived in the early hours of the morning and the staff made it easy to access our room and gave us all the info we needed via WhatsApp. The staff were so friendly and attentive and nothing was too much for them. We arrived in the dark and so on the first morning we opened our curtains to epic mountains, blue sky and morning mist which was breathtaking. Our room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed - including a tea making station, Nespresso coffee machine, bottled water in the mini fridge, shampoo, shower gel and handwash. We also had a lovely afternoon having massages in the spa and then going on to use the steam room and sauna - both of which have amazing mountain views. The wifi was patchy and only worked intermittently throughout our stay.

Stunning peaceful location just outside of the main village (about 10 minute walk)! Exceptional staff & service throughout our stay!! Restaurant food was amazing! Perfect location if you want to explore small villages and Gorges du Verdon nearby! Couldn’t recommend enough!

The views are amazing!!!! The food was gorgeous!! The staff were extremely friendly and attentive! The spa was lovely as was the pool. It was so peaceful!
