Hotel Goldene Spinne

The room was always very clean and the location was very close to the center. The breakfast was croissants and coffee as described, and it was delicious. Overall, everything was very successful. The price could have been a little more reasonable.

The window of the room I was in looked out on a small concrete courtyard (the space between two buildings) which is full of pigeons and serves as an acoustic amplifier for their constant flapping of wings and cooing which, due to resonance, turned into a continuous roar. If the windows are closed you are in the dark and without air, and if the weather is warm (which was the case when I was in the room) then you are also hot.

Location was near to my business events. . Nothing.

Wonderful staff, really so helpful and friendly. Great location, close to important places but far enough to be quiet. I would be very surprised if you could beat it for the price.

It was my first time going on a trip abroad alone, and I was pretty satisfied with what I got for the money! The location is really comfortable - a train station and a big shopping center nearby, and several trams going straight to the center, main attractions and other train stations if needed. Staff is excellent, answered to all the inquiries that occurred through-out the stay and were overall really friendly and helpful. Breakfast is free, and they let me leave my luggage at the reception when I checked out early in the day while having a flight in the evening. The room was a bit bigger than what I expected (was expecting a small room with no space at all - got a pretty regular room). Wi-Fi is free, but feels a bit icky for most of the time (had to constantly reconnect), but it was pretty much unpreventable since I was living on the 3.5th floor and the network seemed to be based at the bottom. My main personal complaint though is the bed - couldn't sleep for half of the trip from how hard the bed was. It might be fine for other people, but it almost killed my back, genuinely. Also the noise that the radiator made in the night was a bit annoying - but it was not constant and I adapted pretty quickly.

Small room.

The hotel is not new, but it has its charm. There is no breakfast, but free coffee and croissants are available in the morning. 5 min walk for the center. 1 min walk to the airport train. Lovely staff. Despite the charm, the rooms are a bit small and outdated. For example, in my room there was a sink right at the entrance.

The location was excellent. Breakfast was quick and easy. There was a lot of noise from some construction outside and from the nearby train tracks. I was aware when I booked about the train tracks.

I found the property old fashioned. Perhaps I didn’t read or go through the pictures. It felt something out from 1940s. I didn’t enjoy the vibe and checked out of the hotel. If you like that kind of vibe then it is for you. The people and location were good.
