Schooner Inn

Staff was excellent. The room was nice, could use some updating and cleaning. We had a wonderful view of the ocean but the window was smudged. We found bottle cap and a paper clip on the floor so I’m not sure how clean the floor was. The bathroom floor had part of the doorstop broken so that could have been dangerous if stepped on. We still had a nice stay and enjoyed the hot tub.

Ocean front with balcony, outdoor pool, safe, walkable to several great restaurants, plenty of parking.

Comfortable bed with many pillows.

Beach view and access was great. Was able to walk out our back door and access the beach with no issues. Front desk attendant was very professional and kind. Looking forward to returning soon.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was fantastic. Views were beautiful. Pool was warm and clean. Restaurants close by were delicious. Having a toaster in the room was a morning game changer. Overall an amazing experience and we will be back in the future.

We have been going there for years and it has been consistently perfect and was especially upgraded this visit. Very good and comfortable bedding and decorated room on the ocean front.

Staff is amazing, place is clean and on the boardwalk. It’s from an older era so it’s not updated but no regrets. Schooner for the win.

The room was clean and nice. Everything was well kept, even though you could tell the hotel itself was aged a bit, The view was excellent and the staff was very responsive

It was my bday weekend and I enjoyed waking up to the sunrise on the beach just beautiful will be back

The location is great, our view from the balcony on the ocean view side was awesome. Only setback was that there was a music festival on the beach in front of several resorts a few days earlier that the crew was still breaking down. Not a deal breaker, we just had to walk to the side to get to the beach but the hotel had advertised beach chairs that were not available. Otherwise a great little place, our rooms had been recently remodeled (just in a dated way)and were clean which was most important. Highly recommend.

I don’t usually leave a review but this place deserves one how they ever obtained an exceptional rating is beyond me. Started out my stay walking into my room to find it a humid 78° with barely functioning air-conditioning when brought to the staff attention they told me that was as good as it gets.! and handed me a box fan I spent every night there sweating and barely able to sleep. The pictures they use have got to be at least 10 years old and you can tell immediately upon arrival that the place is on the downward spiral ! Parking lot and pool are both dirty, the hotel itself from the street view looks dirty and rundown the satellite TV sucks. The rooms are what I would call a polished turd. The floor trim was literally coming up to the point where every time I walked past it, I tripped on it and knocked it off of its base. The bathroom vents that they claim are on all the time automatically barely ventilate the bathroom, discharging more humidity into the hotel room on top of the already hot and humid conditions. Probably one of the worst stays I’ve ever had at a hotel. And then to offer no compensation for the broken air-conditioning was inexcusable. With a strip of over 100 hotels up and down Virginia Beach there are definitely better options.
