Tucked in. Neighborhood with surrounding bars and restaurants, great location

Loved the nice decors. Did not like smoke from marijuana on the street outside the hotel
-

Super tiny room

There were bedbugs. This hotel was hands down the worst I’ve ever stayed in. It’s owned by a Vietnamese family that couldn't care less about the place. Sometimes there was nobody at the front desk, and I had to wait 30 to 40 minutes to get my key because the front desk person had to leave and didn't leave a replacement. There was nobody working at the hotel except one person.

Hotel bed and pillows were comfortable and very clean. Room was simple and clean . No refrigerator or phone? No closet or hooks for clothes

Staff and cleanliness
-
To begin with, the lock on the front door had been punched out. The staff insisted that there was a magnetic lock, however, the fact that somebody broke the lock and they have yet to fix the hole is a red flag. We got there and found out that our room was in the basement, which would have been fine if the elevator wasn't as decrepit as it was. On our way down it shuddered at stopped for about 30 seconds before procceding. Walking down the hallway to our room was like a horror movie, with wallpaper peeling off the walls and wires hanging down. The door to our room was so hard to open you had to body slam it to get it open, leaving us worried about how long it would take us to get out if there was an emergency. Attached to our room was a room full of old boxy computers and hundreds of various wires and cords hanging from the celing and going out the window. This hotel is obviously unsafe, and when I went to ask for a refund, so I could find a safer place to stay, both Expedia and the District Hotel refused. At this point we will be taking legal action and reporti g this hotel to Building and Safety.

Small rooms. Parking is a problem everywhere in DC. Found a paid parking nearby.

The mattress was a little tougher

The location was absolutely perfect. Right in the middle of downtown DC. My boyfriend and best friend booked this for Pride. And it was literally walking distance from the parade and nightlife. And for an amazing price.
