This was my 2nd stay at the Bassett Motel and I've decided I don't want to stay anywhere else when I travel with my family to Williamsburg. Sure they don't have a pool, and you don't get a cookie when you check-in, but if that's the only difference between the Bassett Motel and the Double Tree, I'll take the Bassett Motel.

The location was convenient, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was nice and quiet, and we were able to check in when I returned. I asked for extra towels, and they were readily available. Overall, it was a decent place for a one-night stay. The overall appearance of the place is quite unappealing. It definitely resembles a motel. The room is outdated and gives off a muggy, unclean feeling, but it was clean for the type of environment it was in. Of course, it has a strong odor, but overall, it’s a decent place.

Good location and good price. Loved the bathroom, as it exceeded expectations for this type of property. Very roomy bedroom. Nice touch having the chairs and small tables outside the room. Close to a bus route, if you dont want to drive in Colonial Williamsburg (which we did not for the Virginia 250 celebration) Air conditioning worked great on 100° days! Good microwave and half-size fridge. Many electrical outlets in the bedroom. No ice machine. (went to the Valero across the street for ice) Power strip that powered the fridge and microwave went out, but was able to move the microwave to the desk outlet during our stay. No electrical outlets in the bathroom. Getting to the parking is a bit awkward with the drive-lane only being wide enough for 1 car to get through. A few minor inconviences, but nothing major. It is overall a nice little motel.

It doesn't look like mich from the outside, but the room was neat and clean. It was a great value, close to everything and perfect for a last minute booking during a holiday weekend. It took the room some time to cool off. But it was 100⁰ weather.

Room was clean Motel is quite old. Room was clean but showed wear. Bottom sheet on bed too short to tuck in. Driveways in bad shape.

Nothing There were holes in the bathroom door, front door you could tell had been kicked in. It was so sketchy we left after 10 minutes
-
It was gross. The hotel was sketchy with a weird man hanging around the front of the hotel. The bathtub was rusted and chipping. The pillows smelled like urine which made my hair stink and to make it all worse there was no late check out and the property manager literally waited outside my door as I was trying to get my things and leaves. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. The whole experience was horrible.

It was a good budget motel older but clean. There was not enough hot water it was just luke warm even on full hot on 2 of my 3 days I stayed there.
-
the room was clean and tidy. bathroom was clean. the only drawback was the bed/mattress was not firm enough (slumped down on one side). other than that, the room was quiet and the stay was comfortable.
-
Very clean and functional, old-school motel.
-
Comfortable, clean room in a very low key setting. Old fashioned, well kept motel.
