Everything about the Inn was great. There was a major price discrepancy between the 3rd party booking site I used (Expedia) and what was actually charged but I have yet to get to the bottom of the issue.

Staff was friendly and the room was clean. Nice social atmosphere, game rooms.

Lovely inn.

I had high hopes for this hotel and was disappointed. The staff was not friendly or helpful, and the beds were hard and the pillows were terrible. My pillow was like trying to sleep on a hard, thick, rubber block. I tried several different pillows, and they were all the same. I resorted to sleeping on my rolled up fleece. I didn't get much sleep and woke up sore. Also, we could not see the river from our "river view."

Tiles in the bathroom were missing in places, broken in others. The carpeting was worm. Housekeeping had left a filthy rag in the bathtub. There was no hand or body lotion in the bathroom. We just completed a two month, ten thousand mile roadtrip with a dog. We stayed in places all along the way,Hampton Inns, ComfortInns, LaQuintas. All of which offered us more towels, free breakfasts, lotion …I expected this to be a bit more luxe.it wasn’t. Our room did have a nice balcony with rockers and filtered water and a Keurig coffeemaker were available in the hallway. I would not chose to stay here again.

Very well-maintained property and nice guest rooms and dining room/bar is beautiful. The country breakfast was also a plus. Would definitely come back here!

It was a pleasure to stay at On the River. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the evening watching the moon rise. The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I would certainly stay there again.

Freezing,no heat No river view. No fake sugar at the coffee spots or water in the rooms.
-
Location The added activity fee charged when we didn’t use any of them

That hotel was so nice and so was the staff. The views and amenities added to the charm.

Breakfast was fantastic, such a lovely and peaceful place to stay for a few nights

Is just charming, peaceful and with that Vermont character.

We've stayed here a number of times. The rooms are spacious and the property is in a lovely setting. It's nice being close to Woodstock, but not right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. It's also easy to get to Killington from this location.

when we got to the hotel after a long day of travel we found that the bar and restaurant were closed those days of the week so had to buy chips for dinner. we found a cockroach in the room and when we put out the room cleaning notice, nobody came and cleaned. when we had a nice dinner my daughter found a piece of metal in the pasta so we told the waiter. the waiter was nice and gave us her meal for free so I tipped him very well. the bartender said he talked to the kitchen staff about the metal issue and he gave me a double of bourbon and charged me for a single. the people that work here are nice but for the money I expected more.

Great hotel! Our room was spacious and we loved having a full size fridge and mini-kitchen. Insanely loved the bath products (sorry, I love that kind of thing!). We had a great dinner at the restaurant which has a wonderful vibe and friendly staff. When we checked in, the front desk staff forgot to mention breakfast was included (clearly I had forgotten, too)-- took me 2 days to realize that! Breakfast was great. Another plus-- the gigantic backyard/meadow adjacent to the river is stunning and smores at night were an added bonus! They do a great job creating a hotel that is perfect for families, mountain bike travelers, horse show folks, couples getaways. Hard for one place to cover all that. I had booked via an online site which I thought included all fees but there was a small daily added cost. Overall though our total expenditure was LESS than other area hotels and really, this was so beautiful, immaculate, delish and otherwise very hospitable! We will be back!

Beautiful setting, quiet, and reasonably close to our weekend festivities. Parking was a little bit difficult at times-didn’t seem to be enough spaces for all cars. It wasn’t consistently difficult, however.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and amenities appreciated. Breakfast was very good, a great way to start the day.
