The rooms are lovely and comfortably furnished. The bed was comfortable. One of the "charms" of staying in a B&B type lodging is getting to meet your hosts. We went into town for dinner, so missed the complimentary wine and cheese offering. Other than that, all communication (check-in, questions and checkout) was entirely electronic and we did not see anyone throughout our one-night stay. That felt strange and impersonal to us, but perhaps our expectations were too high. I think we would have been happier in a more traditional hotel setting.

Wonderful place to rest and enjoy the beautiful town and scenery

Beautiful stay! Highly recommend this stay.

Staff not helpful. Asked for a change in reservation and was denied. Woodstock is over rated

This is a gorgeous little inn. The check in/check out is virtual which felt a bit impersonal, but otherwise everything was good. The room is very cozy as were the common areas. There is coffee, tea, and water in the lobby at all times, and there is often a fire going as well. The porch is full of rocking chairs and there is a nice seating area next to a brook in the back yard. Also free wine and cheese each evening for guests!

Staffing was basically non-existent with a machine generated welcome and check out. Property website stated “Food is a central component of every stay here at our Woodstock, VT Bed and Breakfast - and we take immeasurable pride in it. Our breakfast is a European-style breakfast…”which we assumed was included in the expensive room rate. When we asked a staff member for breakfast details, she informed us it was not included, but that a separate, independent restauraurant on the property offered breakfast to the general public at regular ala carte pricing.

Everything was terrific! Great vibe & location.

My only complaint is that our television didn't work. And we told the staff member setting up the evening wine and cheese that and she said someone else had also had the problem. We had had a thunderstorm and thought that maybe that was it, and she said she would check in our room while we were gone that evening. But when we returned, the television still didn't work and there was no indication that anybody.

Was disappointed the restaurant wasn’t open for dinner

Beautiful Inn with truely exellent restaraunt at the Inn. Staff are very friendly and accomodating.

The place is absolutely beautiful. The room was very clean and comfortable. We never actually saw a staff person other than the lady serving the 5pm happy hour wine and cheese. She was great. So if you need a staff I’m not really sure how to get in touch with anyone. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.

I will stay again the next time I’m up in the Woodstock area. Excellent staff, well maintained, excellent restaurant. Nice grounds. Fire pit. Parking is challenging if you don’t want to park across the street.

Everything Nothing to dislike

The hotel was very nice. My only critique would be that the TV package did not include ESPN.

Wow! The Jackson is a gem. Such a peaceful, beautifully maintained, classic Vermont Inn. Both the Inn and the town of Woodstock brim with charm. The sitting parlors are inviting. My room on the 2nd floor was cozy. And the bed was awesome. Breakfast is not included in the lodging fee but was well worth the experience. And the grounds...! Make the most of your time at the Jackson to stroll the lovely, spacious lawn & gardens behind the Inn. I enjoyed a brief, morning, quiet-time sitting in an Adirondack chair overlooking a pond at the very back of the property. I never did connect with any of the staff during my stay. But still I had a lovely time. Thank you!

Wonderful and quaint. We loved our stay. The only negative is that there wasn’t someone on-site to address questions when we arrived past 7pm and on Sunday.

This is a spectacular property. See other reviews for details. I would warn other that the check in tech was not able to find my reservation. Help button at the unmanned desk did not summon anyone. I had to find the confirmation email and call the number. I was then given the wrong room number by that person. I think the link between Expedia and the property is weak, and the timing of the texts the property sends was late to me.
