Staff was exceptional, they turned our stay into unforgettable experience. The staff's caring attitude made our entire stay feel special and comfortable. Great location, Ski wardrobe at the hotel, nice atmosphere at the lobby - board games, popcorn machine , happy our, coffee and tea corner - great variety of tea, fireplace, few dishes are offered that you can heat in the microwave. Shuttle bus from/to Zao bus station. Well, there was only 2 things we didn't like and this was the cleanliness of the bathroom and some dust in the room. The photos we provide are made just after we entered the room. And the other thing was the the breakfast was very poor: ham, eggs, soup, different types of bread, jam, yoghurt, milk, juice, fresh vegetables like cabbage salad, maybe there were 1-2 more things.

The Onsen - outdoor and indoor hotsprings were great! Comfortable bright big lobby The 3 of us stayed in a traditional family room. They a regular mattress on the floor instead of just the mat which was nice! Short walk to the ski slopes. (5minutes) The breakfast room felt like you were in a in fast food restaurant. The food was ok.

The elevator from the dry room to the main floor was typically in use and there was a lengthy walk through a freezing cold stairwell otherwise.

The location and onsen are really incredible, but it’s the people that really made the stay feel special. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensure we were having a great stay. I can’t wait to return to Zao Onsen and spend more time there next season. Thank you!!!

Wonderful onsen hotel, with very helpful and accommodating staff. Great location, beautiful outdoor onsen pools, and having access to so many other onsens in thtoo through our stay here was an unexpected bonus. Would definitely recommend.

The location was fantastic! Able to walk to the farthest ski lift to warm up and work our way out to the other end of the resort. Walked straight from the bus stop to the hotel, roughly 10 minute walk with all our luggage. The accommodation was clean, ADORABLE, and the staff was some of the friendliest I have experienced in my life. The room was spacious, the onsen was absolutely incredible. Cinderella bar/restaurant was phenomenal as well as the other restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast was amazing as well. HIGHLY recommend staying here.

Everything. The hotel is in a great location. The rooms were clean and well equipped. The facilities were good, but the onsen (particularly the outdoor section) was magical. The breakfasts were excellent. The staff were incredibly welcoming and were friendly and helpful at all times. Nothing.

Great location! We were easily able to walk to multiple lifts/lodges/ticket counters and a myriad restaurants. We loved all the free snacks and drinks in the lobby. Breakfast was included and we ended up eating dinner there both nights for the ease of access. Lovely indoor and outdoor onsen pools located onsite as well. The dry room for storing skis/boots was a nice addition too! The beds were a little bit harder than desired.

Beautiful onsen and cute room with tatami floor The central heating isn't very effective, and in some rooms doesn't work at all. Same for the AC. For a premium place such as this, that was a bit surprising.
