Easy access for family - the camp sites around were empty in low season - great bakery just in front weather was not so great - you may not see fujisan

We really enjoy our staying in Ryozan, staff is super friendly, room clean and cosy, with japanese style, breakfast was delicious! It’s 15min walking from 7-eleven and restaurants are even closer

We loved staying at Yamanako lake! We had a car rented. It should be taken into account that without a car it might not be an easy location. With the car it was great. Note - the common areas were quite cold (in February). The room was heated.

The location is exceptional and the staff was very nice. Also the place is extremely clean Nothing to add

Very clean and quiet

Great spot near the lake and excellent coffee shop/bakery next door Beds had been made but looked like someone had jumped on them, bin had not been emptied

The breakfast was great, we had not had a more traditional breakfast like that before during our travels. On site parking was easy, all our questions were answered, and we had an enjoyable stay. It was a little hard to get to, due to several road closures, but this was not the accommodations issue or fault. We felt without a car, we would have had to stay somewhere else.

Lovely place, the family that runs it is very nice. I recommend it.

Wonderful place to stay and experience a real Ryokan. Of course its at the foot of Mt Fuji and car is by far the best way to access everything in that part of the country.
-
No air conditioner. Public shower. Other things are perfect
-
Owner are very welcoming A public shower room is really cold and the public hot tub is cold too

We stayed 2 nights at Yamanaka Lake Ryozan with our daughter. We arrived late in the evening after a long day at Gotemba. Arriving late was no problem for our hosts. The room was great with beautiful Tatami mats. It was very cold outside but the heater provided in the room made it very cosy. Our daughter loved rolling out our futons that night to make our beds and wearing the yukaya bathrode provided. The hot baths were also great and unexpected. We woke up the following morning opened the curtains and found Mt Fuji towering above us. Our room had the best view. Our breakfast was Japanese-style with salmon, fish, pickles, miso soup etc and much-needed coffee. We loved it but our daughter was struggling with it. Our beautiful host noticed this and brought her a mandarin and a cake instead, which was such a lovely gesture. The Ryozan was very clean and tidy. It also had a cute bar tent outside which unfortunately we didn't get a chance to try. We had to leave very early on our last day and unfortunately left our daughter's hand luggage, which we didn't realise until we got to Odawara. Our daughter was devastated. Our hosts found the bag and messaged us asking for directions on how to get the bag to us. They kindly packaged this up and sent it to our hotel in Osaka. Our daughter was thrilled. This was such an amazing thing for them to do and we were so grateful to them for doing this. Can't recommend Lake Yamanaka Ryozan enough. If you are after a homely but authentic stay near the Lake and Mt Fuji, with beautiful hosts, this is the place for you. Nothing.

It was very traditional and the staff was always very helpful, even though they knew little English but we managed! The onsen experience was good. It is in a very quiet area The room size was manageable. It is a little far from main attractions around Fuji. 10mins away from a bus stop. Ideal to travel with car.

Wonderful ryokan experience. Breakfast was very nice. Sitting in the onsen after a day of hiking around was great.
