The Phoenix Hotel

My review of this hotel, The Phoenix Boutique Hotel, is so-so. The only redeeming quality is the English proficiency of the front desk staff. The mediocre experience is that outside the room window is the hallway. This interior window offers no sound insulation whatsoever. Late arrivals or returners were loud and boisterous. They woke me up at 1 a.m. and I couldn't fall back asleep for a long time. Other unpleasant aspect stems partly from the fact (not hotel’s fault) that the city's tourism industry needs improvement. In the city, I couldn't get any cell phone signal that is promised by T-Mobile and available in almost every country, making it impossible to call Yandex Go service. The taxis didn't have navigation, the driver didn’t know where the hotel is, finding the hotel took double time. Location-wise, this hotel is good, you can walk to the three major attractions in 15 minutes: Republic Square, Cascade and National Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Location and comfort The staff was looking to scam us to pay in cash (USD/Euro). Looking to charge us for leaving the bags for couple of hours.

Location and size of the family room (apartment) were as expected. The kitchen was reasonably equipped. And, the bathrobes and slippers were a really nice touch. There is absolutely no natural light in this apartment. The air was stuffy, and no windows opened to the outside. Moreover, there were windows that opened onto an interior corridor. The layout of the hotel is very odd. To access the pool you have to go outside the hotel then back into a basement. The pool was freezing, despite being indoors.

Nice little hotel

Reception is behind the room doors, you can hear it and they can hear you. Rooms are located ok the first floor, windows are mirrored but anyway it is uncomfortable

Very convenient, neat & clean property Cleanliness

The staff were very nice and accommodating, especially Keron, the male receptionist — such a friendly and helpful guy who really made my stay more pleasant. The hotel is perfectly located in the center of the city, surrounded by shops, bars, and stores, making it very convenient to explore Yerevan. My room was absolutely beautiful with a modern, aesthetic design — I loved it so much! Nothing.

Staff and location Nothing in particular

The small hotel was very well located among good restaurants, an excellent pub and a very good coffee shop. The swimming pool was a wonderful bonus on hot days, the check-in lady, Anna I think, was superb too. The windows were covered, I would have like some natural light and they didn't do breakfasts but they were the only small faults I could find.

The water in the pool was freezing cool.
