Exceptional and excellent! I like everything. The location is perfect near the republic square. The breakfast is varied. Room facilities are excellent. The kitchenette is a big added bonus. I would definitely stay here again anytime i visit yerevan. If you have ocd with cleanliness you will see mold in the bathroom but it didn't affect my review that the hotel is exceptional :)

Location. Walkable distance to republic square. The double room was too small for 2 people. There is barely a space to walk in.

Yeah, I was only able to eat breakfast one time out of four days since the service started at 8.

Great location! Although hidden in an alley, it is off a main road in a central location. Most taxi drivers didn't know the hotel but knew the road the alley leads to. The location is its greatest asset. The breakfast was quite adequate even for a vegetarian like me. Pancakes, little omelets, sausages, beetroot salad, porridge, fried eggs, cheese, ham, cucumbers, tomatoes, white buns (no brown bread), jam, honey, chocolate cereal. Great coffee from freshly ground beans and different teas. The rooms were very clean and the cleaning ladies very, very accommodating. Apart from the nasty receptionist (see below) on my first day, all other staff were very courteous and helpful at all times. The Cartez Hotel is good value for money, for a 3 star hotel. On the very first day I arrived and upon entering my room, I noticed the unattainably high clothes rack in the wardrobe. I am 160 cms tall and although not short, I am not considered a tall person. I could not reach the wooden hangers to hang my clothes. Secondly, noone explained the air-conditioning system (only confusing because there is an older, wall monitor still on the wall, which has buttons to press). I only discovered later by experimenting that the A/C had its own remote control. A third 'difficulty' is the fact that the king size bed takes up all the space in the room, with 15 cm between it and the wall, so that one has to turn sideways to slide through onto the bed! (And why is the 'bedside phone', on the wardrobe, where you knock the receiver off every time you pass?). All these would have been still ok, after all, it is a 3 star hotel and it had some good points (see above) too, if it had not been for the sarcastic, sour, unprofessional receptionist called Lila or Lala, who when I politely asked if something could be done about the cupboard (I suggested if they had a small clothes rack or something), so I could hang and reach my clothes, also to please come up and also let me know how to control the A/C, was answering my questions with a question, "What is it you can't do", "What is it you don't understand", along those lines, to the point that I really got very angry and pointed out that being rude to a paying customer, old enough to be her mother, is not very professional. I asked if I could change the room and was told by the same sour person that they did not have any available vacant rooms. She also never came upstairs for the Air Conditioning, clearly not caring. Thank goodness, absolutely all the other receptionists (3 different ones) in the following days, were extremely helpful and pleasant).

Excellent breakfast. The personnel were friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient as well. Plenty of restaurants and the Republic Square are just around the corner. Comfy bed. The bathroom is a bit worn out. Soundproofing might be improved; noise from the streets and the voices of people in the hall were audible.

really good breakfast and friendly, helpful staff

The location is insanely good and safe, it’s right behind the ministry of foreign affairs i guess so the area was so safe during the night because of police cars. The receptionists were super helpful, and talking english smoothly. There’s a good exchange spot nearby (like literally 1 min walk). The room i took was with a perfect view (triple), and i just enjoyed my stay. Bidets available. Bathroom with hot water. And very comfortable bed. Plus, an iron outside the room was a superb! The breakfast can be a bit better. But overall, nice stay

Breakfast was ok but it lacked some variety in the diary section and sometimes freshness especially in the bread. The worst thing about our room was the shower. The water jet was light and the shower tray didn’t lock the water well, so the bathroom floor was covered with water after every shower we took.

The hotel boasts very clean rooms, tasty breakfast, and a central location, close to restaurants, shops and attractions. The staff is very welcoming, always ready to support and provide information where needed. nothing really

The showers need MUCH better cleaning. Mold particle were floating on the shower floor. Carpeted floors in the room also need some deeper cleaning or replacement. I also did not appreciate that my family members were asked to wait outside (it was extremely hot) with the suitcases during the check-in. Since the rooms have a separate entrance from the reception area.

Location is very good There was no phone in the room to contact the reception. The elevator was located outside on the street. They charged additional for requiring extra water. The breakfast area was very small with limited options in the buffet. The room itself was tiny, and it felt suffocating.”

Breakfast was OK, Location is good but hard for a car or Taxi to reach the hotel more convenient walking. The service was nice and everything was well cleaned. you have to go out of the building to go to reception or the breakfast are. There is not enough closet area to put cloth.
-
Great location, clean rooms, and a decent breakfast. All the essential amenities you need are provided. The rooms are separate from the reception, with the entrance located on the opposite side of the building. The area feels a bit dark at night, but it’s generally safe.
