Great location with a car park (a bonus for York). A cosy place to stay, not far into the city. A good selection of beers and food.

I dont think I've ever been greeted by such a friendly and polite young lady in my years of staying all over the country. Room was lovely and clean and well set out. The bar was was cosy and inviting with a good selection of drinks . The breakfast was first class with everything piping hot and extremely tasty.

Location was the best possible location to the old town, staff and meals were exceptional

Loved everything about our stay at the Rose & Crown. It's a great location and a fantastic setting. We loved all the different seating areas and how the pub was decorated and the lovely accessories.
-
Lovely place to stay that is situated perfectly for a 10 min walk into the main area of York or a 30 min walk to the racecourse. The friendliness of the staff and the great food served means we will definitely book to come again Only a small fan in the room but bed very comfortable
-
Good location close to the city centre, great full English breakfast, friendly staff that were very helpful and free parking. 10 min walk into the city centre. The photos online need updating as the rooms seem to have been painted and updated and look much better now. The photos online could be off putting for some people when booking as they look dated.

Great location. Easy walk in and around the City. We had a comfortable room overlooking the pub garden and car park. Lovely cooked breakfast and friendly staff. Scrambled eggs

We were very happy with our room and ensuite bathroom, bed was comfortable and it everything was very clean. Location is great, just outside the city walls so everything is close by. We had dinner on the first day and the food was outstanding and the bar staff were lovely. Breakfast the next day was also very good, my kids said it was the best bacon they have ever had.
-
Location was ideal, close to the theatre, 5 min walk and a 10 min walk into town. Very friendly staff, lovely breakfast. We would stay again. Lots of parking.

Very good

Location very good, easy walk into centre and very close to walls. Bed comfortable and pub reasonable although didn't eat other than breakfast Some traffic noise at night as next to main road. Breakfast just ok.. toast a bit stale.
-
Really nice hotel/pub. Easy check in. Given our own set of keys for if we needed to get in/out once the pub was closed. Good size rooms with plenty of air and light and plenty of tea/coffee/milk with spares out the corridor. Plenty of options for breakfast. Not right in the centre of town so not too busy everywhere. Only thing to point out is it's on a main road so the room at the front which we were in could be noisy with traffic and people walking past but i use earplugs anyway so didnt ruin my stay!
-
This is always a marvellous stay the food is exceptional and the staff are lovely. Traffic if your on the main road but can't be helped.

Staff were lovely very helpful. Dinner and breakfast was lovely . Needs a bigger fan in room .

Lovely breakfast and not far from the city centre, staff was lovely and very accommodating. Only downside was the mattress because you could feel the springs.
