It was a cozy place to rest. Location was awesome! Within walking distance to the Castle Museum, The City Wall, and The Shambles. The shower was the smallest I've ever seen, but the water pressure was fabulous! Staying at a Pub with accommodations is PERFECT for us! My husband enjoys being able to have a couple of beers without worrying about driving. The room was small, but very cozy. The 3 outside seating zones are delightful to enjoy dinner & a beer or just to have a beer or two & watch the world pass by. It is next to the Canal, with what we call "River Walks" in America. It will be a perfect place to see Narrow Boats glide by once they complete the renovations & get back in operation. Parking area is very small with 5 parking places available for guest staying with them. We were blessed to get the spot we had. However, the location was excellent to leave your car parked the whole time your in York, as several sights is within walking distance and a place to buy tickets to get on a Hop on Hop off bus..

Breakfast , full English very good, located next to main road with a tranquil beer garden area over looking river The hotel met my expectations

Everyone was very nice and helpful. The pizza I had for dinner there was fantastic, and their beers are great. Unfortunately, I stayed during a heat wave and the room was hot and stuffy (no a/c). There was a good ceiling fan and they gave me another one, so sleeping wasn’t too bad. I had to leave early and they made me an early breakfast. I still had trouble sleeping because some young people outside were a little loud that night, and because of the heat— which to be fair, wasn’t the tavern’s fault. It’s a bit of a walk to the old town center.

The only good thing was the location We were told the shower was leaking when we arrived but it was going to be fixed. That did not happen . The room was absolutely tiny and there was flaky paintwork plus mould in the equally tiny bathroom. This place is not value for money. We got a refund and booked into a much better place.

The room was lovely and clean with an en suite toilet. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided. The hotel is very central to everything and within walking distance which is a bonus. The staff were very pleasant and friendly, and the food in the pub area is top notch.

Quiet, historic and by the river locks. Good restaurant and helpful staff. Parking provided. Definitely rustic and very small. The on demand hot water in the shower was very tricky to operate and alternated between scalding hot and ice cold. Water also leaked from under the shower base when used.

Location was good, cost ok. The stench from the drains in the Bathroom was overpowering and permeated the whole room after a while

The location is excellent! Very walkable to the center and with free parking on site, this is really what sold it to us. The check in staff were very nice, with complimentary tea and coffee. We were able to get into our room early which was an added bonus. The room was comfortable, and fine for a weekend getaway. When we went downstairs to the pub in the evening for a drink, the locals in there were so disgustingly drunk, loud and obnoxious. It was a real shame we couldn't our drink. Also, our neighbours in the room next came home at around 1am and were extremely loud for about an hour.

Location was great. Whilst on main room rooms were at the back and very quiet. Plenty of tea coffee biscuits. Room was quite small.

One of the best stays, on our trip to UK. Owners very friendly, and helpful. Very quaint place. Food in pub was great, and good prices. Nothing.

Location was awesome - many pubs , river walk and sites around the property Parking - the few available spots are so small that it took 1/2 hour to get in and out of them and required staff to move vehicles.

Great setup in room, and bathroom. Comfortable mattress. Generous coffee and tea. Nice to have mini fridge. Parking was secure. Fan was nice We also enjoyed dinner there. Staff were excellent. Pillows too hard, bed has head and footboard so not great if you are tall. Top sheet would be nice as too warm for duvet.

Beautiful Pub, Walking distance from main attractions. Comfortable bed, small but functional bathroom & shower. Parking available. Dinner at Pub nice but very busy.

Nicely tucked away from the main street and surprising quiet even though near the beer garden. It was a good location and provided parking which was a huge plus.

Loved the Olde World charm of the place. The staff were very friendly and the food was first class. Bed was a nice soft place to sleep. There wasn’t anything not to like.
