Very good value. It was a little challenging with a shared bathroom. I need to be more careful when selecting a room next time. Staff very friendly and helpful.

good breakfast, great staff Waiting time for Onsen due to private room

  • Engine customer May 2025

Nothing really but the walk from the station was around 1km. I had no problem walking the distance.

There was mold on the curtains in my room, and it was quite moldy everywhere - it is quite an old place.

Good location, served pretty good breakfast and dinner. I didn’t like the need to constantly change shoes and wear shoes worn by strangers, even just going to the restaurant. Room was really small.

Room is good enough and balcony come with nice view. Parking lot is free and enough. Private onsen should be able to reserve with time. It is easy to manage onsen and bath time. Checking availability of onsen online is good idea but it is not convenience. Breakfast and dinner is just fair.

There was free access to several baths - I especially loved the outdoor bath. You are able to lock the door so you can be there by yourself, which is amazing. The breakfast was also great. Staff was very kind and helpful.

    Exceptional

There are private hot springs available, and you can check for vacant rooms by scanning a QR code. The dinner and breakfast are very delicious. The room's windows do not let in much light, so it's basically impossible to open the curtains, which is a bit unfortunate.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. The environment is really nice and relaxing. The private onsen is first come first serve, so you can check the availability on their website. The train and bus stations are a bit of a walk, and there's no convenience store nearby.

Staff was great. The outdoor bath was amazing. For the price paid, the room is tiny. Also our room is located by the staircase. It’s not a big hotel but it’s a bit more noisy than I would’ve liked.

The service of the counter staff. And the outdoor onsen was great. We were able to cycle leisurely along the canal to Lake Kinrin. The room given on 1st night was so noisy that we were given ear plugs . But they were kind enough to change our room for the 2nd night stay, which we really appreciate. And that saved the day as everything else was great.

The building is old and most items were worn out . The floor creak every time we walk to the rest room as the rest room were shared. Cleanliness is also an issue as the male toilet smelt of urine and floor was wet .

  • Engine customer Feb 2024

We really liked the onsen system which allowed us to check online which baths were in use or not and there were plenty of options (and for families, one of them even had a baby cot near the onsen so you could swim while keeping your baby nearby, safe). We also liked the location of this accommodation and the car park which was free and nearby. The bedroom was the smallest we stayed in, in Kyushu but one of the most expensive in terms of size/value. But we were happy nonetheless.

It was clean and clean, and it was very satisfying to get a taxi.

Reserve the room with a private bath and garden like we did. It was newer, clean and comfortable, unlike all the bad reviews for the economy rooms that brings this ryokan's overall ratings way down. The ensuite toilet was the best and fanciest one we experienced in Japan, with the lid automatically opening and closing each time, with music, upon entering and exiting. Our private bath and garden were beautiful to gaze upon, but the water temp was initially too hot, so we turned off the spout and let it cool down a bit while visiting the other baths. The great thing about the communal baths is that you can easily make five of them private by locking the door. I never encountered any other people using them, so it was easy to do and experience all five, no additional fees. The baths are rather utilitarian, except the outdoor one which has a more pleasing rock and plants surroundings. The meals were amazing, splendidly presented and quite fancy, served next door. They had a more modern flair to the traditional kaiseki sets and were huge. We were glad they accommodated our no meat preference. The photos of the room appear much larger on the website with camera tricks. When the two futons are set up, you have to step over them to move about. But there is ample space for your luggage in the closet or alcove. As with many futons, we always stack an extra one under us for more comfort and we were glad there were extra futons in the closet. Some may think that a 13 minute walk from the station to the Ryokan is too long, but it was easy and flat. Also, it was nice to be away from the crowds of the main area. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that the Ryokan is next to a beautiful flower lined canal and path with a splendid mountain view that a 15-20 minute walk will bring you to the main street and lake which both are ridiculously crowded during the day. So we were glad we could use the path to visit those areas later in the day and early in the morning before the bus loads descended on the area.
