The location was excellent just off the seafront and the breakfast was first class and the waiter was very helpful. The room amd bathroom were tidy and clean and it was pleasant and comfortable enough for our short stay. The room was very functional and perfectly adequate for what we wanted in a short stay. For a longer stay it would preferable from my point of views to have a room with more space and at least one other chair in which to relax.

The Full English breakfast was enjoyable, but the other options were quite limited. As we only stayed for one night and did not have the opportunity to explore the city, we could not fully assess the location. However, its proximity to the beach is definitely a plus na

Near to the seafront. Free parking. Nice , clean room with a comfortable bed. Good breakfast included using local ingredients. The room was very bright due to there being lots of spotlights. Bedside lights also too bright. Small detail.

Excellent location and easy self check-in. Very accommodating with any requests and ample top ups of tea tray items abd toiletries. . Tired looking room with cheap furnishings. Lots of stairs so problematic for those with mobility issues.

We raised our concerns with the property before leaving this review, as requested by the notices displayed throughout the hotel, but we didn’t feel they were taken seriously or that any action was taken. From the moment we arrived until around 11:30pm, all three entrance doors were propped open. We closed them ourselves before bed, only to find them propped open again the following morning. As ground-floor guests, with just one locked bedroom door between us and the street, we didn’t feel secure. That concern was reinforced that evening when we had to intervene to help a young woman who was being followed along the harbour. We waited until the man had left before we felt comfortable returning to the hotel ourselves. While that incident wasn’t the hotel’s responsibility, it highlighted why secure accommodation matters. The reception desk was left unattended with guest folders, room keys and guest information left out for guests to collect themselves. The folders clearly displayed guests’ full names and room numbers, meaning anyone walking in from the street could identify exactly who was staying in which room. As a solo female traveller, I would find that completely unacceptable. There also appeared to be a fire door that couldn’t close properly because it was obstructed by a handrail, raising further concerns about safety. The property also advertises parking, but it’s simply on-street parking rather than dedicated parking. These aren’t minor inconveniences; they’re basic safety issues. We gave the property the opportunity to address them before writing this review, but as we left, nothing had changed
