This is the friendliest, most accommodating staff I have ever experienced. It's a modest hotel, but with all the benefits of a more upscale hotel. Thoughtful, sensitive staff, especially, but not limited to, the front desk.
-
It smelled in the entry vestibule and the room was a bit depressing. The bed was quite comfortable though.
-
Bel hôtel, bien situé à proximité des attraits du old town et du transport en commun vers Washington.

Staff was very helpful with my late checkout and baggage hold. Breakfast was good and quick.

In point of fact, their parking is very limited, and all the spaces are for compacts; it is also very hard to find, and the map they gave me was blurry and wrongly marked by the desk clerk -- four tries before I finally found it. When I arrived at 9:30 pm, the lot was full and the desk person told me it was "not guaranteed, and first come first served." Not something that was clear from the hotel description. I had to park down the block at the Hilton, which was $15 more expensive, and get a receipt so the Hampton Inn could refund the difference. I got it, in cash, and the desk person said he needed to keep the receipt. The next morning (walking back and forth in +90 degree heat), I was told by the garage that I had to pay an additional $57 unless I went back and retrieved the receipt from HI. I did it, but I wasn't happy. Obviously, I won't be staying at this Inn again, but I won't be staying at other Hampton Inns, either. I may not have read the description carefully enough, but I feel misled.

In order to access the hotel you had to call the front desk to open the gate for the parking area. Leaving the area was no problem.

Staff extremely friendly.

Betty at the front desk awesome and valued ambassador for the Hampton Inn and Suites brand. Morning breakfast was excellent and variety of choices. The room was cleaned upon request and comfortable throughout my time there.
-
Great property in a perfect location. Easily walkable with free trolly right outside the hotel that can take you to the waterfront part of Old Town Alexandria
-
Wonderful front desk staff. Room was cleaned when we asked and the morning breakfast was one the the best we have had. Particularily want to mention Maria and Torrey for their kindness and professionalism.
-
Room was clean enough. There were some hairs in the towels which I guess could happen anywhere but is always gross. Elevator was very old and slow. But the hotel was close to where I needed to be. I wasn’t uncomfortable staying there. Not a bad hotel overall.

The hotel is in a great location, very close to the train station. If you don't want to use the car, this is the hotel for you. The staff was very helpful, the room was clean, breakfast was good, parking fine.

This one may have been cheaper because it was a little tattered around the edges. Outdoor pool was covered with a tarp, mold was growing on the paving stones. To be fair, we were there two days before Memorial Day so maybe that would have been cleaned up in the coming days. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. The Yoplait fakey yoghurt is awful, the food manager should buy something better without artificial sweeteners and flavors. The most annoying thing was the false fire alarm that went off about 11pm. The desk clerks wouldn't tell what happened. A wall panel near the entrance showed an alarm fault which stayed on. A restless night ensued wondering if the place would burn down.

The hotel needs a renovation
