Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Ames

Was there for 4 days. Never once was our room cleaned during our stay. Had to ask for toilet paper and asked for service twice. The excuse used was they did not have enough people to do the service. The breakfast area food was decent but the chairs were in terrible shape. My opinion is that the hotel needs a remodel and a change in management.

Breakfast was the standard hotel breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, fruit, waffles, toast. Bagels , yogurt, oatmeal, muffins, strong coffee. Locations was clean for the most part. I did find a plastic form on the floor by the bed and there were a few places on the walls in the bathroom that needed to be wiped down. Firm mattress and good water pressure in the shower.

Cleanliness of the room. A black sock on the carpet from previous guest a comb, blood on the curtain, lamps not working, drinks in the fridge from previous guest and then when you walked down the hall guests puts bags of garbage sitting outside rooms

This hotel was nice enough. It just needs a good cleaning. Floors were not vacuumed in the hall, needed cleaning in the breakfast area, shower curtain was dirty, and the bathroom floor not swept and mopped well. The chair in the room was torn up and dirty. The worst thing was that there was a printed sign on the door that said the sprinkler system wasn’t working. It was dated June 30 and our stay was on Aug 7. That’s unacceptable in my opinion. The sign was not obvious and we saw it as we were leaving.

When checked-in room was not clean! Promised would have cleaned stat in the morning on Monday, terrible room service did not clean Or empty the trash, bed not clean hairs left in bed, I showed front desk staff pic's WOW, bathroom above light switch wall peeled and shower curtain ripped/torn. Last day 08/04 no clean towels, had to go buy towels absolutely unacceptable worst hotel service and experience I ever had! 1 out of 10 continental breakfast was good I guess!

Pleasant

Like pounding from water or Pipes at 5:30-7 am Near the door. Not sure. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Complementary water was great.

Excellent staff, very exceptional breakfast buffet, very clean rooms. Great location. Easy check-in & check-out procedures. Easy accessible parking lot.

Highly disappointed in cleanliness and upkeep of property. Overall quite dirty and run down. Was not up to Fairfield Inn standards. Staff was extremely accommodating and tried to make things ok for us. Due to event in the area, there were no options to move. Would never stay there again.

Check in was nice and very smooth with the front desk lady. The room had cob webs and no running water in the bathroom sink the next morning. Told two housekeepers and no one did anything. Went to front desk and the man came and looked but couldn’t fix it and no maintenance worker was available to fix it???? Just apologized for the inconvenience. Offered to change our room but didn’t have another suite to move into. Just very disappointed when you pay over 500.00 for two nights and this experience happened. He said the manager should reach out this “week”. So we will see about that. Hotel is in need of a major update outside and inside. Not worth the money. Felt bad for these other people said they had to smell urine and blood on bedding in their room.

Breakfast was awful. Limited selection. No honey. Eggs were very overcooked. Rooms are very dated. Soundproofing is awful and we had very loud room next to us. TIL past midnight. Free bottled water was great. Parking is great. Hotel needs a makeover

Overall the stay was fine. Stayed for five days. Had a serious issue with housekeeping. Upon check in I was asked if I wanted the room to be cleaned on a daily basis. Yes was my response. That didn’t happen. The first day we returned to room. Nothing was done. Had to get clean towels from front desk and told them room was not cleaned. They apologized and said the would make sure it would be taken care of. Next day returned to room. Only the trash was emptied. No bed made no ice bucket bag no fresh towels. Again I let the front desk know and again they assured me it would be cleaned. Next day clean towels only. No once during our five night stay was the room ever properly cleaned and refreshed. Hotel was not busy the entire time based on the few cars in parking lot. Breakfast was great pool was nice front desk was attentive.

The staff were pleasant. Lobby area nice and clean. But the room wasn't as clean as it should be. Bedding, such as the blankets looked like they needed to be cleaned better. One chair looked dirty.

Another great night at your property! All working there are very courteous!

The room unfortunately smelled like body odor, and the loveseat had stains on it and was gross. The pool and the hot tub were not available the entire four days that I was there. They also did not clean my room the day after I checked in.

Staff were helpful and rooms were clean
