I liked the ease of booking and the key codes to access the property and room, the room was very clean and the staff were very nice and conversational. Can’t wait to return and stay there again.

Very cute bed and breakfast. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. The rooms are cute, clean and quiet. I forgot to bring my pillow, and their pillows were a little on the tough side, but otherwise everything was comfortable and I slept well. For breakfast, a few more options for the hot items would be nice, but overall I really enjoyed everything they provided. I plan to stay again.

Clean room. Charming cottage style house with great location close to ISU campus. Lofted suite is perfect for parents traveling with a student.

I love the Iowa House! I spent three days there in May and five days in August. The location is perfect--a 19th century house in a beautiful neighborhood 5 blocks away from Iowa State Main Campus on a quiet street. I went running each morning and felt very safe and energized by my surroundings. The rooms are clean and very well appointed. The common areas are well maintained, clean, nicely decorated and very comfy. I travelled solo yet had a free communal breakfast each morning. The 24 hour food and drink options were generous. The staff is friendly and helpful. I consider The Iowa House my new home away from home. I love that they had the daily newspapers set out each morning for visitors to read. I cannot wait to go back to Iowa!

This place is comfortable and homey. We always stay here when we’re in Ames!

Quiet and clean. We went during the summer as a stop on our honeymoon. Check in was simple and staff were accommodating.

Property and staff were great, very cute place. Only thing I would mention to future travelers is this isn’t walking distance to Jack Trice stadium (a google search showed it as 5 minutes). Also, if booking through Expedia, your contact isn’t shared so they can’t send you the codes needed to get into the doors. Luckily, Iowa house phones are manned and they promptly sent once I called them.

Keeping it short and simple. This will always be part of my itinerary whenever I'm in Ames.

Clean and comfortable room in a charming historic house. Very short walk to campus and numerous restaurant and bars. Room was a real value compared to local hotels. Nothing.
