Best Western Plus University Park Inn & Suites

Our room smell a bit musty & perfumy. The fridge didn't work & the toilet was loose. We've been staying here for years because we have family nearby. The property was really nice when it was new, it's showing it's age and could use a refresh and deep clean.

Breakfast was great and the rooms were clean. This was our first stay.

Easy access, locate close to highway.

Very clean, looked updated, new carpeting. I was very pleasantly surprised. Will stay there again in the future. Had a coffee maker with cappuccino and latte options. Nothing

Second time we have stayed there. The rooms are comfy and roomy. The staff is helpful and attentive. Breakfast is very good with solid options. My main issue is the parking lot lighting. There are 4 light fixtures for the parking lot however 2 are out and 1 is blinking leaving 1 working light. It’s very dark as a result and our daughter felt a bit unsafe walking out to the car alone. Hope that the management team addresses this safety issue.

Excellent location, clean room and good breakfast

The lobby was very nice. Free breakfast. Good coffee. Friendly front desk reception. Good location. Liked the separate sitting room. Very large TV in bedroom, and good sized one in sitting room. The room had strong mildew smell that grossed us out. Seemed run down a bit too.

Hotel was safe for kids easy parking with ramp, pool, hot tub, books in lobby for kids, good free breakfast options, staff members very kind and multi task to make your stay great. Nice outdoor porch to sit and relax, pricing not over the top easy drive to university of Iowa, all kinds of food and needed stops working one or two miles away, 40mins from Drake stadium or adventure land. This visit however I noticed that the property was dirty, my room smelled like smoke and there were no outlets on the nightstands or anywhere near the bed. The breakfast tasted weird and the hot water dispenser was broken. I would have overlooked all of these things if the staff had been nice, but the receptionist acted as if my arrival was a major inconvenience. She may have been having a bad day, but as someone who tries to be kind and polite to everyone I encounter, it really tarnished my opinion of the property.

The property is spacious, but overall, it falls short of expectations. It appears old and has a musty smell.

Clean place to sleep with decent breakfast.

This hotel was easy to find and very close to both downtown Ames and Iowa State University. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit dated and small. They are not soundproof. Very close to the road.

The atmosphere of the lobby and the friendly staff.

Nice lobby area with tables where we could share a meal together. Did not use the pool or hot tub but both looked clean and inviting. Check in was as expected no issues. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold choices and was kept supplied through the whole breakfast time. Nice surprise to find the free coffee machine in the lobby with 24 hour access where you could get latte’s, cappuccino or other favored coffees. Was clean with comfortable bed. Some little signs of wear and tear in the rooms. But overall a very nice stay and we would come here again

Room was large & comfortable. Good sized mini fridge. Bed was comfy. Staff was friendly. 8 mins from Best Western is a street with a lot of food choices; I think it was S Duff? Check with staff.

Door keys quit working several times in one day.
