The place is quaint and the service is very good. A well run place with character. Rooms are a bit small, but that is part of its character.

Oh the staff were wonderful, helpful, kind and personable. The room had no place to hang anything or drawer space. It's worth noting that I had a particularly small room, and I believe the other rooms are more accomidating.

Such a unique hotel, and to be able to live in a canal house is such an experience! We stayed in the "Artist Room" which was located on the ground floor. We have our own private entrance, the room is decor in such a unique style with the face of Van Gogh when you look down from the second floor. The location is very central, the breakfast is excellent, service staff are very friendly and we got a complimentary sparkling wine we arrived. We had two big luggage with us, so it was indeed convenient for us have the room on the ground floor, or you will have to go up steep stairs to the rest of the rooms. My favorite part of the hotel is the washroom, and if you don't want tourists to see you peeing remember the turn off the blinds! Everything was great about the hotel, I think the only thing will be the location is behind the red light district, so sometimes you will have strangers/other tourists loitering outside your room door smoking or just sitting outside. The canal house is dated back to 1652, so it is a modern take but some of the materials are dated back so creaky stairway case is expected. As for value I think it's half half, it's more of an experience hotel more than luxury.
