The reception was very friendly and helpful, and the housekeeping staff were equally great. Everything ran smoothly during my two-day stay.

Good location, able to reach many main sights on foot. Opposite a Lidl which was convenient. When we arrived we were given a twin room instead of the double that we booked, they apologised and said we could be moved but it would be past the check in time (they had to wait to ask another group to swap with us). When we came back to collect our new key, the receptionist was on a break but had left the computer unlocked - I find this very concerning as our personal data (passport data, name, address) was all accessible to anyone who could've walked by! The room itself was very disappointing. The bathroom had significant amount of black mould on the ceiling and smelled foul. The shower was a wet room with the toilet inside, I find this quite unhygienic and after showering, the water barely drained which left large puddles when you then go to use the toilet... Fixtures within the room were not clean and covered in dust, the mattress too was covered in hair. The walls are thin and there are gaps under the door which let in lots of sound and light. The bed was somewhat comfortable but one very thin pillow each. No fan or air conditioning makes it difficult to stay in summer heat. While this is on the cheaper side of accommodation in Amsterdam, I think it's worth spending a bit extra to stay somewhere half decent.

The girl at the reception was so sweet and helpful. It was nice there was a coffee machine at the reception. The old guy knocked our door and told us to open because he smelled marijuana even though we were not smoking in the room and he demanded to enter and search our room. It was unacceptable and unprofessional. We were blamed for something we did not do and were disturbed in a way that did not look good on the staff nor the hotel.

The basement rooms smelled like cigarette and had ventilation issues, also a lot of small damages on the room overall made us a bit worried to leave a deposit, but had no problems
