I absolutely loved my stay at the Social hub Amsterdam city. The entrance of the hotel was visibly lgbtqia+ friendly, which was heartwarming as most hotels in my country don’t show that much support. The hotel was located on the same line as my FlixBus stop, opposite a subway stop and very close to an Albert Heijn store (practical to buy a vegan sandwich before a day trip out of the city). The common area was well decorated and members of the staff were present 24/7, which was very reassuring. They were friendly, approachable, helpful and recommended good places to eat or visit. As a solo traveler, I was very grateful to have these moments of connection. Camilla, in particular, is a host I will definitely remember for she really contributed to my positive experience at the Social hub Amsterdam city. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank her again for her hospitability. The café near the entrance had some good matcha and cookies. I really like that the hotel provided this service because it can save a lot of time when you are visiting Amsterdam and it is a nice way to start the day. My room was on the fourth floor with a nice view. I was able to check in early in the day, which was a game changer. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The furniture was modern and aesthetic. I especially liked the bathroom which looked lovely and had products that smelled really good. The TV could be connected to your smartphone if you wanted to watch Netflix/Prime video etc. A few TV channels were also in English. An improvement that could be made is to offer custom sandwiches and provide a specific to go cup for the iced matcha latte (the one that is currently used is a small espresso cup).

Location was good. Right near the train station and a large supermarket. The rooms are a little tired. The lighting dark and dim

Really nice and clean, friendly staff Our air conditioning was broken. We raised it three times through our stay but it was never fixed meaning our room sat at about 26 degrees Celsius the whole time. Staff provided us with a desk fan which helped us to sleep, but when you pay for air conditioning in the middle of summer you expect it. Additionally at one point my partner received a nasty electric shock from a wall socket whilst removing his phone charger. This took the power out of our room and also injured his hand. I went down and raised this with the man on duty that night who said he would have someone come look at our room the next day. The power did turn back on by the next morning, but no one came to check on us. Luckily my partner wasn't seriously injured and just had a sore and tingling hand for a day or so. I was surprised they didn't take a guest being electrocuted a little more seriously. It felt like the staff were ill equipped to know what to do in these situations.

Very good location just next to the metro. Kind of a hostel vibe though our private room was very comfortable for a couple.

We were with in walking distance to the things we wanted to do. The building was beautiful and cleaned. It was really close to the metro and there seemed to be a bad crowd hanging around.

The hotel lobby is a mix between a wework. the concept is different. It is walking distance from most sites. The break fast was excellant. The room only had a light on one side of the bed
