Best staff, so friendly and on the level in every way I needed during my stay. I wanted to hang out with them all. That I couldn't have the bedplaats all to myself all day long. Other than that, can't think of much. But if I really had to decide, maybe it would be that the sun doesn't set until well past my bedtime and I should have brought an eye mask.

The hotel was near a metro stop, so getting anywhere was easy. My two sons needed to spend a bit of time on work, and the large lobby work space was ideal for that. There is a coffee shop onsite, the room was small and sparsely furnished, but it was comfortable and had what we needed. The staff was exceptional. No door to the shower area was a bit awkward at times.

Breakfast was the weak point. Very expensive for for we got. A lot of stuff was missing, they mentioned.

The hotel atmosphere was good. There was a parking lot(30 euros each day) The location was nice although a bit far from the city center. There were some activities such as live music which was free of charge but a club which costs 15 euros and it didnt worth it. The lobby of the hotel was very nice and had a warm atmosphere. The room where we had was a complete disaster. It was on the first floor which you could easily hear other room’s noise(when when they were in bathroom) The bathroom was a big probem.(the shower and the toilet were attached so when we took a shower, the water was everywhere and the whole bathroom was wet. The room was a bit strange since the washing sink was out of bathroom. So if you wanted to wash your hands after peeing, you need to get out of the bathroom and come into the living room since the washing sink was in front of the bed.(attached a photo of it) The beds were not beds really. There were two matresses detached on a peice of wood which was a scary part to walk on(see attached photos) The roof and the walls were too old with so many holes. To sum up, I have travelled almost 20 countries so far and the worst room I have ever seen.

Location is relative to why you're traveling, but this hotel is worth not being in the center. There's a metro stop steps away. I recommend this for solo travelers to Amsterdam. Safe, comfy. The staff was super friendly. The design really neat. Thought went into this place.

There was a grocery store nearby, but there's no little refrigerator to put a few of your grocery items in.

I liked all the amenities offered by Volkhotel, as well as the community feel with the young travelers. The tiny space of the room was unexpected. There was absolutely not enough space for two people with luggage. It was also further than expected from Amsterdam’s main attractions.

On Saturday night it was very noisy, I could hardly sleep. Luckily I had earplugs, but I should have been warned that the music will be so laud that it is almost impossible to sleep. I missed the breakfast. I expected that it is included in the price.

Didn’t realize it was a music hotel so a little more lively than I’d prefer but honestly not bad at all and TJ rooms were still quiet.

They didn't have a kettle in the room/cups we had to get them from the bar or restaurant everytime we needed hot water...but the staff were helpful so it was pretty easy
