It was too hot in the room

Breakfast was a hit every morning, staff was wonderful. The vents were not cleaned, covered in dust. The elevator was small and slow only part of them worked.. extremely hot at night.

Dejeuner froid et peu varié. Ascenseurs petits et déjeuner au 8e. Donc congestion pour check out. Climtatisation ordinaire. Le système n'est pas concu pour grandes chaleurs. Points positifs, personnel courtois et situé près station métro.

Great place to stay. Plenty of space.

The hotel offers a daily hot breakfast with a nice view from the top floor, has larger than average rooms with kitchenettes, and has a small gym. I’ve stayed here twice but the first stay went better. This time there were problems with the air conditioning not working in July, poor water pressure in the shower, and virtually no hot water - I tried various times during the day and night. The king bed felt old and saggy to me. This time the price was higher and with the inconvenience of being farther from DC attractions, the value just wasn’t there this time.

Location for good For the 3 nights we stayed there no one came even to through the garbage. The A/C in the room smelled badly.

The location is great - close to the DC Metro which gives access to the capital. (Note that if you are visiting Arlington Cemetery you basically need a car.) The breakfast lacked variety, so if you are staying for more than a few days it will become a bit boring.

This property has been sold so please make sure that process hasn't begun. Otherwise it worked excellently for our stay.

The AC was broken and we were not told this until we were ready to check in. We had actually arrived 2 hours earlier but were not told about the situation even at that point. As temps were upwards of 35 degrees celsius we had no choice but to cancel the booking and look elsewhere. I understand that these things can happen but the hotel could have given us warning about the situation. Luckily we found an alternative hotel without difficulty however we had to pay an additional sum of money for our 3 night stay. Very disappointing customer service indeed.

Be aware that there is a daily charge for parking your car in their lot, which is noted in the restaurant's information. TV worked fine; though as seems typical these days with hotels, there is no card indicating what the channels are.

We arrived at the hotel on Saturday, July 4 when temps had been hovering close to 100° most of the week. We had booked the hotel for its location and being able to view the fireworks. When we arrived, the staff notified us that the air conditioner was not working and would not be fixed until Monday. I felt bad for the young woman at the front desk, who was left to deal with this situation. Even though the air-conditioning had not been working correctly for several days, there were no attempts to contact customers who had booked rooms. Our options given were to stay and be provided with a fan, or receive a refund and book somewhere else. With it being the evening of the Fourth of July during the 250th celebration in DC, finding another hotel room was not an option. We decided to stay the night and asked for a refund for our second day we had booked. They were hesitant but finally agreed to refund it. There was no discount for the first night. It’s understandable that businesses might have difficulty with air conditioners keeping up with record-breaking heat. However, not contacting people traveling from far distances to let them know there were issues ahead of time or offering a discount is ridiculous. There was also no preparation or helping people find alternate locations to stay. Extremely poor service for a situation they were well aware of for several days.
