It was just okay. Nothing special. The best reason to choose this place is if you want to be downtown to go out in the evening and walk around, eat out, etc. We didn’t do that, we just stayed in so we really didn’t take advantage of it. We were told when we checked in that if there are more rooms than parking spots, so we would not be guaranteed a spot if we left and tried to return. That’s something to consider.

Rooms were nice and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Location and value are perfect

Our stay was as expected. Clean rooms and friendly people in a great location.

This place is definitely dated. Its in a bad spot due to incompetent motorcyclists showing off their bikes between midnight and three AM. So bring ear plugs. That said, the place is clean, rooms are clean and stain free. Beds are good, showers hot and waffles tastey. If you are looking for a budget and a place to sleep, this is it. Its within walking distance to a good portion of “downtown.” Make sure you get there early enough to get a parking spot.

The location and walkability of the area was great. You can find a bunch of spots to enjoy. The hotel itself is an older building and doesn't seem well kept. I don't think it's due to the staff slacking or anything, but it seems more like the owners are doing a very "landlord special" type of situation. The vent in the bathroom was somewhat detached from the ceiling and there was what visibly looked like mold surrounding it that had been there for years. We only spent one night so it was doable, but if I wouldn't return unless there were no other options in the area.

Showing it age but a cheap hotel in walking distance to downtown! Solid value. I’d stay here again.

The hotel was very satisfactory. The location is great because it’s right in the middle of town. The pool was nice for a quick dip after a hot day out. The parking lot is extremely tight. It’s really for compact cars and mostly SUVs are parked there making it tight to get in and out. There was an excess parking lot we had to park in one night and our car was broken into. Breakfast wasn’t great but it had the basics. Overall a satisfactory place to stay for a good price.

The location is perfect. The building is dated but it is kept up well enough. There is a loud banging sound occasionally. I never figured out where it came from. The worst problem was the traffic noise coming off Patton Street. Until about 2 am, you will hear loud mufflers right outside your window. It is very difficult to sleep.

Motel built in 1963 is very well maintained with the rooms completely up to date, super clean and fresh. Bed utterly comfortable, not too hard, not too soft. Spacious king size room with all mod cons. Offers a wonderfully convenient and affordable stay in the heart of historic downtown Asheville. Friends staying at the top hotel ($600/night) were just a short walk away (5 mins or so). Did not partake of breakfast but looked like the norm with great hours (early to brunch) and a waffle station. Only shortcoming was slow loading tv that is easily overcome with strong internet streaming on one’s own device.

Always our go to when we visit Asheville! Can’t beat the location!!

Main complaint was the woman at the front desk- and I say that loosely- bc she was rarely at the front desk- there was always a sign they were away and to call a number. They literally must employ 1 person per shift. When she was actually there she was slow as can be and rude- so rude. We could not find a parking space anywhere and wound up getting a ticket bc we had to park in the lot behind and she refused to help even though the person previouslyhaf said they would help us. Also if given a choice choose mountain view not road view- we got no sleep because apparently the place is also a favorite for loud motorcycle gangs to gather.

The hotel's location was perfect to walk everywhere downtown. Beware that it sits on a busy traffic corner, so you hear motorcycles and trucks all night long. However I would stay there again for the convenience and free parking.

This was a great location for a downtown Asheville stay. They inn is an older building, but it was in good condition.

Breakfast exceeded expectations Location was great for downtown
-
The location is good and the price is good for that location You get what you pay for so this isn't high end accommodation but still it does look a little worn down

The location was also convenient and made getting around very easy. What stood out most was the excellent customer service and attention to detail that made the stay feel special. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
