Aruna Hotel

I've booked a family suit, which had two rooms and was pretty spacious. Check out was easy. Location is not the worst, but can take a while to walk places. My check-in was really bad. I came they gave me keys, said nothing, I open the door and it's a standard double room (I've booked a two room suit). After I've asked about it they said my room is actually not available and they are "so sorry" and that it will be available tomorrow. They offered a discount for the price difference, and the room looked bad, but I didn't had much choice so we stayed. After 1h+ they said my booked room is available so we moved. And they came to charge back the difference without any compensation for the trouble. Regarding the suit. AC was only in the living room, was barely able to hold temperature there. And the bedroom was always very hot. The mattress in the bedroom is actually two mattresses together with a hole in the middle which was very uncomfortable. The room was also right next to the entrance and you could hear people come and go. No one ever came to do room service in 4 days. The room was also not very clean. There is a decent amount of stairs to get in and out of the hotel.

Location staff

The staff were just another example of the post-Soviet dishonesty! The matron from reception tried to extract $50 from me in CASH, of course, on top of the card payment through booking.com. Such properties should be removed from booking.com

WIFI connection in room is not great. Very small room with little space for bags. No breakfast but some free cofee and tea.

Staff was pretty friendly. The room was on the first floor so we didn't need to carry our baggage too many 1. King size bed is just a two single beds standing close to each other 2. The furniture in the room is damaged and looks terrible, especially the chair 3. The shower is at the 2 meters height, splashing to the wall and not regulating

For the price everything is ok WiFi is a problem

the only good thing was the location - close to all the capital’s landmarks the bathroom was definitely not cleaned after the previous guests, we asked for the couple bed but it turned out to be two twin beds next to each other. we also asked before our travel if it’s okay for us to check in early and we got an answer that it’s not a problem, but when we arrived we were charged additional 8000 tenge.

Ordered double room for 27000 Kazakhstan tenge , but in the checking In reception i was informed that that room is busy , they gave small room, and they didn’t paid ma difference ( 10 000 kazach tenge ) .
