If you can get a remodeled room, great; if not, better to avoid. We stayed here on two separate occasions this past year. The first was truly exceptional in every way. The second time, everything that made the first time great was lacking entirely—from the room, to the some of the personnel and their elusive indifference to reservations made months in advance. We waited over an hour for our room to be made available after the designated check-in time, only to be sorely disappointed when we were given a room overlooking the carpark, with a direct view into our “private” onsen. Very disappointed, we checked out a day early.

The staff were phenomenal. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I had a private onsen room and it was such a lovely room. I look forward to staying there again!

Travel to the Atami station was not that convenient. The Onsen can be improved with a temperature monitor for control of water temperature.

I liked the private onsen and the experience the hotel catered. The location is quiet and private. The hotel spoke very little English and all items in the room were exclusively in Japanese. If you are thinking about the spa you also need to book in advance. Also cleanliness could be better especially in the bathroom.
