The house was was an exceptionally maintained Victorian from the 1880a. It truly felt like we had stepped back in time. The house had all original detail!! The bed was comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely have going back. NA

The B&B was lovely. The owner was wonderful and very accommodating.

Wonderful historic home in the historic district of Auburn. A real showplace with great attention to detail. Nicely appointed and decorated. A real joy to experience. Delicious hot breakfast and easy parking. The door on our room didn't close properly and would pop open unless locked. Given the limited number of guests, it was not really a problem. Be aware that bathrooms are not ensuite, but are private facilities in the hall next to the room.

The breakfast was excellent. Theresa was an exceptional host. She was very accommodating. No complaints Maybe I'm being a tad fussy but I would prefer breakfast served on warm plates so the food stays warmer.

Teresa was a wonderful, gracious hostess, and she prepares delicious breakfasts. We truly enjoyed relaxing in her gorgeous dining room and the bed in the Penley room was very comfortable. We also appreciated that the upstairs bedrooms had strong AC window units during our hot September visit. We stayed 3 nights because it was an excellent point for day trips to Maine’s coast (Portland), central and western mountain area. The Grafton Notch area is a beautiful day trip from Penley House, especially if you stop at all the little waterfalls and roadside pie stand. Penley House is a great location and provides comfortable rest after your daily explorations.

The B&B was very comfortable and the owners were very accommodating. We had to depart at 4:30am and they left breakfast out for us, which far exceeded our expectations. Our rom was spacious and very comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I am in Auburn.

Super spacious. Historic home that's well furnished without going overboard. Our host, Theresa, was great. Such a sweet personality and welcoming. Breakfast was a treat! It was a bit noisy in the evening, but that was expected given the location. Quieted down before bedtime.

Very unique, well decorated and maintained. Inn keepers were very pleasant and communication was clear. I would stay again and recommend- especially if you haven’t stayed at a b&b

What a beautifully restored home, and a delicious breakfast. I really enjoyed speaking with Theresa, the host, about the history of the house and her travel experiences. The room was lovely and comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The room was a little stuffy after being closed up all day, in the way that rooms in older homes can get--but that really was more my fault--I probably should have opened one of the windows just a little while I was out at a conference for the day. Really, this was a very minor concern overall.

Theresa and Christine were so accommodating. A home-made breakfast was prepared every morning. The house was immaculately clean (and even decorated for Halloween!). And I never had a concern about the safety of my being or belongings. A really wonderful spot with such a beautiful aesthetic.

I have never stayed in such a perfectly clean, well appointed accommodation that was so elegant and classy without the feeling you were walking on egg shells. - you could eat off the bathroom floor it was glowing with care ! Theresa is a wonderful hostess and her breakfast including the blueberry pancakes with bacon are amazing ! Throw in super comfortable beds, easy parking and a great coffee machine outside your room - what a great stay ! Nothing

Beautiful heritage home

We liked staying in this comfortable home with pleasant owners who lovingly returned this home to its original beauty. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The bedroom was spacious so it could have accommodated another suitcase stand or a chair in the walk in closet.
