Avignon Grand Hotel

Prime location without the noise. Good breakfast. Very dated and shabby in places. Pool is nothing to speak of.

The Hotel is tired, conserved but old furnitures. Good internet connection but weak AC.

The location The air conditioning was very poor, the temperature could not be adjusted. There was only one elevator for very many rooms per floor. The breakfast choices were inadequate for a 4 star hotel. The room refrigerator was a joke, did not cool down at all. Voila!

The roof deck/pool area was fun! Great location! Not sure the A/C was working as well as it could.

Excellent location just outside the walled city and next to train station. Comfortable room with lots of shelves etc and nice (small) pool on roof. Architecture is non descript but interior is comfortable.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. the air conditioning did not work right. felt very hot and uncomfortable. The breakfast did not meet our expectations . vanities, such as shower cap and body lotion were not provided as all other hotels in France where we stayed.

Staff was pleasant and location was convenient. The air conditioning did not work! When we arrived, they said someone was coming to repair the air-conditioning. The air-conditioning didn’t work so we had to warm nights in the hotel. We had to leave the window open to let fresh air in, all the time concerned that animals may come in. Had I known, we would not have stayed there. I requested a reasonable discount. The staff said they could do an unreasonably small amount, 20% off one night. They said a manager would follow up with me and I’ve still not heard anything. Additionally, the room smelled dingy and the carpet head stains. It was very disappointing.

Definitely the front desk staff! Sadly, it was difficult for us, being seniors, to park and drop off our luggage for our 90 day journey, at the front of the hotel and park in the parking facilities. Plus our gps wasn’t working. I upgraded our room to a terrace with a garden view. Unfortunately, the garden was very rustic with weeds and maybe a few green plants? Not much to see from our terrace, which had an unusual odor as did the room that needed airing when I opened the door. Then we had trouble with the keys and locks and the locks needed to be fixed. After driving all day we really just wanted to relax. The front staff tried their best and it was eventually fixed. The hot pot water warmer didn’t work also when all was done to relax with tea. All n all I gave a review of disappointing, but I could see the potential in the facility to be upgraded and fixed up a bit. It looked a bit ignored and understaffed. This resulting in things not working or looking run down. The man who eventually helped us with our luggage was a hustler working very hard running around doing double duty. The management has a very dedicated staff and so I was going to rate higher but couldn’t due to the disappointment in our accommodations. I have booked about 20 facilities on our 90 day journey and they have mostly all been excellent! Hope AGH can upgrade a bit and improve their drop off door for easier loading and unloading and drive through and an easy fix would be the garden and terrace and odors.

came for room size, quite large,and location outside wall was the draw. couldn't leave fast enough, something very wrong around area of room 218; ac was pumping in toxic sewage fumes all night, woke up with major headache. Smell was awful. Next door neighbor also had same complaint. Addionally the ac was lousy, room very hot. not up to standards for non Europeas who are used to real ac. reported to hotel staff, but they could care less, not even an apology. Hotel in no way is 4 stars, hallways unkept, dated, furniture in dining area with torn upholstery, carpet in room with many stains, seemed dirty.

Location Rooms were hot even with air conditioning on.

Superb location, easy access to the train or TV station , right outside the walls , we were able to get to restaurant , tourist sites , and shops within minutes.

We enjoyed our short stay. The room was large and came with a seperate room for office / tv watching. The bed, bathroom and were good quality and nicely modernized. The room came with a large bath tub as well as a separate shower. There was plenty of pillows, towels and room for everyone. The breakfast was delicious with many selections. The breakfast also featured local products and fresh coffee. There was underground parking accessible from the hotel, but you do have to pay for it. While the amenities, beds and bathroom were all modern the style of the room was dated. It didn't match.

Convenient to center Facilities dated. Hallway alarm went off all night and no one came to fix it. Woke up to fire doors in hallway closed. Probably a safety hazard. Booking.com should be embarrassed to list this as 4 stars.

Everything is fine.

Check in went so smoothly. The staff were very efficient and friendly. Our room was amazing. We had a sitting area separate from the bed area and an extremely spacious bathroom with both a tub and shower. The location to the Center, which houses all of the streets of shops and restaurants, as well as the Palais de Papes, was perfect. It is definitely a walking city. We had an excellent vacation. No complaints.

Staff were friendly. Very large room and very quiet. Bed was very comfortable. Carpets were stained and Hôtel is a bit dated. But room was very clean.
