Central Hotel

It’s perfectly located a few hundred yards from the central train station and on the main thoroughfare of Avignon, making it easy to find and to pop back to. There’s a little courtyard to relax in, quiet tucked away and cool even in the extreme heat. My room (one of the smallest) was immaculate, crisply cool and comfortable with kettle, teas and tisanes, and space to unpack. The staff were really lovely and welcoming, which as a solo traveller helped make my stay feel relaxing. It was a treat to stay here. N/a

Location Very very tiny room

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Centrally located, it was easy to walk around and come back for brief respites. I found the staff to be very accommodating and whenever I get back to Avignon this is where I’ll stay. My room was very clean and comfortable. I have a knee problem and there’s no elevator but I was given a room with only one flight of stairs which was very helpful and appreciated! So other than no elevator this was a great experience.

It was clean enough despite the towels Room 41 was particularly unfortunate. You enter the courtyard of the hotel next to an always busy smoke shop. The courtyard is often full of guests and to our surprise our room was on the ground floor inside this courtyard. This made it so if I wanted to open the curtains anyone would see right in. To make it worse the deadbolt was broken so there was no added security. We resorted to leaving the curtain closed for privacy and so had no sunlight in the room. The curtains also did not seal the window well meaning the lights from the lobby seeped in at night, which along with the thin walls made it hard to sleep. The smoke detector inside the room was also covered in tin foil. Nearly all towels were stained and ripped. The air conditioning unit also only worked as a fan, the cooling was not activated so the room was quite warm.

Great location, pleasant staff. Rooms visually clean The room smelled strongly of mildew and there was visible mold on the A/C vents. (Combination of a cramped bathroom right next to carpeting, and no bathroom ventilation.) If you’re immune-compromised or sensitive to mold, stay somewhere else.

Good location. Breakfast is good. There are steps in the units. It is a bit dangerous at beginning.

Our reception at the hotel was welcoming, and there was a safe place to store our bikes. Our room was large, wifi worked well, and the location was excellent. The elevator was old and a bit wonky, but no big deal at all.

It was located in a central location. The train station was only a short walk in distance. Our room was not reached by an elevator. We had to climb 3 flights up It was a workout! It required some lifting with our luggage!

Location Three stairs in the room, which made me fall twice

We stayed in a lovely room that was very clean, nicely decortaed and well equipped. Sat out on a terrace where there was also wifi access so I could do some work from there overlooking the rooftops and tree canopy. Staff was friendly and location was great. We only had one night and were able to explore a lot of Avignon on foot from the hotel. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends. Breakfast was ok, it was nice to sit out in the courtyard, but a little expensive for what it offers. Next time I might grab a croissant and coffee round the corner for half the price!

All was really fine. The room was somewhat small, but I think quite the norm for European standards (at the price). A/C was included, as was coffee, tea, hot water kettle, and fridge. No real complaints--nice view of the small inner courtyard.
