Face au Palais

Alain the owner was a charming host. The location could not be better. We parked under the hotel in the parking garage steps away fron the front door. The breakfast was incredible. Fresh fruit, eggs, cheese, croissant and French bread. Room was great with AC , frig. Coffee machine, and all the soaps and towels you would need. Nothing!

Location was fabulous. A quiet courtyard retreat 20 steps from a major bustling tourist location. Not applicable

Beautiful property in the historic center, just across from the Palais des Papes but secluded and peaceful. The host is lovely and welcoming, the breakfast generous and delicious. I would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful place to stay. Close to the sites as well as public transportation and restaurants. Breakfast was wonderful. What made our stay even better was our host. He made our stay better with his welcoming personality his willingness to help with our daily activities and eating . We would highly recommend staying here and if we return we will definitely stay again

The host was wonderful, and the location was great - near everything we wanted to see. The property as a whole is beautiful. Breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. The room was a little small, but adequate for our needs. It was also right next to the kitchen, which was a little noisy in the morning but not disruptive. The bed was also on the harder side of comfortable. However, we found all the beds in France to be harder than what we experience in the US.

The owner was so helpful and personable. A delight! Goes above and beyond to meet anything you need or are trying to figure out. The location was fabulous and the courtyard garden added a peaceful sanctuary in the middle of the city. The room and space was spacious and bright.

This was a lovely, quaint, and peaceful place to stay right in the middle of all the sights. The Pope’s Palace is right across the way with many nice restaurants around. All the other touristy things to do are a close walk away and Alain is the ultimate host. I hope to return to Avignon and stay here again! I liked everything.

ambiance, location, personnel nothing

We were welcomed with warm hospitality and our every need was anticipated. We would come back again and again.

The location is right in the main square of Avignon, with a private courtyard/garden and a wonderful, friendly and interesting host. Breakfast was excellent with a variety to choose from including home made marmalade, hard boiled eggs and yogurt. There really wasn't anything that we did not enjoy about Face au Palais and the host.

Really a gem. This is more like a bed and breakfast. The host was wonderful - very attentive, very informative, great guy. And the location is perfect! It's quaint and fits Avignon to a tee. Will stay here again. There is no lift to the second floor, but that's not a problem as your bags are delivered to you,

Fabulous location right across from the Palace

Exceptional host! Exceptional breakfast in the beautiful courtyard! Exceptional location! So quiet, peaceful, and cozy.

We loved the privacy and the size of the room/space directly across from the Palais de Popes. Alain, the owner, could not have treated us any nicer. He served a beautiful breakfast to us every morning in the lush garden. He was very helpful with suggestions and directions as to how best spend our day. The property was a perfect central spot to take daily trips (by car) to Gordes, Nimes, Pont du Gard, Roussillon, Les Beaux, Abbey de Senanque and Uzes. And the cherry on top was the resident cat, Le Chat!

A wonderful property in the heart of the ancient city easily reachable by car, taxi, and uber. Alain is a tremendous host who goes above and beyond to make your visit memorable.

It could not have been better!
