You can’t beat the grounds or location you can literally take steps down to the water and hang out in the hammock. The grounds are beautiful. The staff is friendly and we loved it.

Picturesque Casa Lamat sits directly on the lagoon and they are pet friendly. There's a restaurant that features home cooking. Downtown Bacalar is close by.

We loved the camp feel with nice facilities. It was great to be right on the water and each cabin had its own little nook, just right for our family of 4. We appreciated the eco-friendly stay and the staff were very helpful. The rooms were comfortable and the family suite worked for our family of 4 once they added the optional extra single bed so that my son and daughter didn't have to share a double bed. The fans and mosquito nets were helpful. It would have been nice to have complimentary coffee. The restaurant there is expensive, there are no restaurants in safe walking distance, and there is not a refrigerator to store any food you bring in, so we felt isolated from affordable eating options. When we got up in the morning, we served ourselves coffee from a thermos that was out in the eating area, thinking it was complimentary, only to be charged for it as an extra fee upon checkout. It's not that it was expensive, it's just that we felt there were no options to store a few snacks or breakfast foods and we were there for 3 days and nights.

To be honest, we were a little unsure about this place after reading some of the reviews—but Casa Lamat truly exceeded all our expectations! The staff is incredibly friendly, the private access to the lagoon is amazing, and it’s pet-friendly—our dog was treated like a guest, which we really appreciated. The whole property is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature, and has such a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The room we stayed in was a bit small, but totally comfortable for a few days. There’s hot water, a water dispenser to refill bottles, and the food is delicious, healthy, and fairly priced. It’s quiet, serene, and just so lovely—we’ll definitely stay here again! Tip: Having a car is a plus, but if not, it’s about a 30-minute walk to the centre. Very doable if you enjoy walking—and honestly, the location is worth it. nothing really. :)

The platform with the hammocks was lovely and the room was clean and comfortable. The rainy weather, nothing you could do about that.

I have loved my experience at Casa Lamat in Bacalar. It's located just outside of the city, so it's very calm and breazy, but still near enough to walk to town easily (1.5km) in shady road. The staff are absolute gems, they make sure you are comfortable and care to all your needs with a smile. Our room was clean, there was air conditioning and a lot of fans to keep from the heat, the bathroom was beautiful and there was some hot water in the shower, with soap and shampoo. Food and drink were very good and not too expensive. I would have like to have coffee included with the room, but we were charged 50 mxn for each americano we took. (Which is a fair price) You have access to the lagoon, to swim and chill, the water is hot, nice and clean. The deck area was my favorite space. I loved the people, the big table to meet the other travelers and most of all, Mini Mac, the baby cat living on the spot. ? The only thing I would change would be the soundproofring of the room. There was absolutely none ? so bring your ear plugs

Beautiful setting and gardens. Eco-friendly. Ceiling fans and fans inside mosquito nets. Great loveingly prepared food. Staff/owners super friendly and helpful. Cute kitten which the kids loved. It was a little warm in the room, but this reflected the hot and humid weather at the time.

Rooms are ok, all clean, but maybe not worthy for the price. Paid for a lagoon view and it was more like a garden view with a veeery little tiny partial view between the trees.

The location is superb, right on the water . The staff are super nice, friendly, helpful and accommodating. The tropical plantings are lovely and the view of the water through the plants is enchanting. Good AC , fans and plentiful hot water thanks to the solar hot water heaters. The guacamole is the best item on the menu! Access to the hotel was confusing, its basically a dirt road off the highway, a sign would help

Great relaxed place with nice staf ? That we couldn't stay longer.

Great view and location.

Would like more food options after lunch and before dinner.

The hosts are amazing. I was suffering from sun burn and she gave me some aloe Vera from the property garden to soothe my burned areas and recovered quickly. The stages are equally amazing and they can cook! Breakfast Lunch Dinner were delicious . The property is lagoon front unbeatable location. I watched the sunrise every morning and swam in the lagoon at anytime. Your very own pool! Thank you Casa Lamat family for giving me the eco experience I was looking for.

Everything went very well, the staff was absolutely amazing and very kind. The location and facilities were exceptional. We had a wonderful stay at Casa Lamat, which is now our favorite hotel in Mexico !

Location is very difficult to find. Access through the main road is bad for small cars. There are no food options. The lady in the kitchen can cook but has to restrict herself to prepare vegan dishes to please the owners, not the guests! Food is way too expensive and has no taste.

The property is beautiful and has a nice deck with an access to the lake. The hotel was pretty clean and taken care of. The room and bathroom were tiny with low ceiling. The property couldn’t accept payments via credit cards. It brought inconvenience because they were asking for wire transfer. And I couldn’t order food at the hotel.
-
The lake View When arriving they offer food and drinks without Letting costumers know they will be charged when checking out. They don't have a menu with prices. Food, Coffee are expensive, bathroom need more privacy (stick swinging doors). There's no employee assistance during the morning, they get there after 7:30am.

We loved the vibe of Casa Lamat, very tranquil in nature, perfect for relaxation. Excellent location on on the Laguna. Xavi and the rest of the staff are excellent hosts.
