Restaurant Waah on the premises was where I had the breakfast included. Adrian and Alondra were so professional and attentive. Not to mention the delicious variety on the menu. I had the Huevos Motuleñod. N/A

The vibes is very good. The room was clean and confortable. The staff could be friendlier. Also, the breakfast is very limitless. There is a lot of option but you can only choose one and it’s too small

Not a real complaint, but the AC in the rooms doesn’t really reach the bed (2nd floor-ish). Still gets cool after a while though

The rooms were really tiny, but we expected it. The bed is in the upper part of the room. There was a noise early in the morning, i think it was a ventilator from the kitchen.

Breakfast was excellent (much better than what you would expect at this price range.) Hotel is "quirky cool" . AC is weak, WiFi is lousy, pool water is cloudy, tap water interruptions and low pressure, door lock was ready to fall off door, burnt-out LED lighting. Housekeeping not great (dust and crud behind corners). Staff are cold and blasé. But for the US$100 a night I would go again. Location very good. With professional management this place could be greatly improved and the room rate doubled. But heck, we're in Mexico. Yes - I would say this place is authentically Mexican. And at checkout when we were handed the credit card terminal we specifically said we wanted to pay in Mexican pesos and not CDN$ (lousy exchange rate.) After leaving the hotel and checking the invoice, the SOBs charged in $CDN which had a 5% "convenience fee" added as well as the note "as per client's choice." You always have to keep your eyes open when doing financial transactions in Mexico - it's still a poorer country and some of them are very crafty when dealing with foreigners. Felt like we were in a construction zone. The hotel is being expanded and the exposed concrete structure and walls plus shoddy tarpaulins, form the backwall of that "fancy" swimming pool (with cloudy water) that you see in the promo pics.

Amazing hotel with an eco-friendly concept at the heart of it. We loved the pool and hammocks, and the hotel is walking distance to the lagoon and restaurants. A special mention to the chefs as the hotel breakfast is the best we had during our 2 week trip travelling around Mexico.

The layout of the hotel is great. Fantastic pool and lounging area. The restaurant is equally excellent. Greens grown on site. Eloquent dishes. Honey coming from bees on site. Delicious. The location is prime as well. Walkable to the center and other restaurants/bars. The serving staff in the restaurant are very attentive and professional. There is one new employee there that heavily lacks customer service. Everytime I interacted with her she was annoyed and rude. Very unprofessional. I asked her about tours one day and she huffed and puffed as if how dare I ask a "new employee" about tours in a tourist town. Maybe do some research about your new job/location before you take the position as the face of an establishment's front of the house. Why even take a job as the front desk attendant if you don't want to help people? Also, it would of been nice to know in advance that construction was going on.

Friendly staff, great breakfasts, Really comfy common lounge area. Reasonable price. Room was tiny- had to climb stairs to get to the bed. Needed upgrades. Renovations going on- construction noise was annoying. On site restaurant offered very few reasonably priced main courses.

Great breakfast! They do prepare fresh and delicious food, but it needs to be included with your booking, otherwise it is pretty expensive for a location as Bacalar. Great access to the kayak, paddle and the center. Hotel in the works: dust in the swimming pool (we didn't see anybody swimming), noise because of the works and not really a great view. The room is clearly big as the size of a mattress: this is pretty tricky to circulate when you have 2 suitcases, the entire room is in the dark (the light installed is not enough), and you have to climb the stairs to access your bed. Not convenient at all! The photos are not fair as we don't see the other side of the hotel in the works and there are rooms without a mezzanine.

The rooms themselves… might be good for some people however we found it way too small to be comfortable. The WiFi did not work.

The property had an attached restaurant and the breakfast that was included in my stay was outstanding, taking standard fare such as avocado toast to another level. The property was located on a road that runs along the edge of the lake and near numerous restaurants and establishments offering adventure options. The lay out was clever and original and true to the ecological theme. There were lots of spaces to sit and relax. The room had plenty of outlets for chargers etc. I felt I could have enjoyed a few more days on site. I never could quite get the hang of the key code system for my door. My particular accommodations had a bed which was accessed by steps. I found these steps awkward. While the hotel is centrally located, I originally had a little trouble finding it at night because the signage was somewhat low key.

Great location, beautiful place. The food here is delicious. Rude staff while checking in, WiFi is bad can’t use it in you’re room unless your outside. There is construction going on in the property with noise early in the morning till late at night, construction workers are just staring at the women in the pool.

Pools out of service. The 2 small pools were filled with rain water attracting many mosquitoes. The room was very very small & dark.. the attic in the room was very low the stairs too long & very steep. Very unsafe

Really great hotel in Bacalar. I have stayed here before and will stay here again. The hotel is very stylish and really considers every detail. The breakfast is included and really delicious. Great pool and bar and easy to walk anywhere in Bacalar. Construction by the pool.

Location and the staff were extremely nice. Thank you to the team for making sure my experience was good. The upstairs room I found them dangerous. The stairs to get to the bed are really complex… not at the same height and the bed is like 3 mts from the floor… going up and down was an interesting experience… certainly not handicap friendly nor seniors or someone not in good shape…
