HOTEL CEDRO ROJO

Nothing We had to wait an hour to get toilet paper for the room after checking in, and then 3 hours for a towel to shower. The room was so hot, and stuffy, it took all night for the AC to cool it down. There was never a receptionist around or anyone to support with questions. The place felt unclean, the bedsheets smelled bad and the bed was very uncomfortable. Would not recommend.

We just had a lovely few days at Cedro Rojo. It is so underrated on booking.com! The place itself is beautiful, more beautiful than the photos, set in a very peaceful garden with a huge tree in the centre, beautiful artwork hanging in places inside and outside the rooms. The rooms are very stylish and big, we had everything we wanted and considered Cedro Rojo to be very good value for money. Christian and his family are very kind and they were lovely to be around. We had an issue with our air con but Christian changed our room for us and it was absolutely no hassle! The water pressure in the shower was a bit low, but we honestly were not bothered by this. Beds are big and comfy and I had the best nights sleep of anywhere we had stayed on our travels! Within walking distance of everything we needed. Everything is a bit spread out in Bacalar, but find the town centre and watch the world go by at night, it was a delight!

The staff - family owner - works a great deal to make his guest feel very comfortable and happy. The place is well taken care of. We truly enjoyed the little place of peace that he created inside: the tables, plants, lounging chairs... We enjoyed talking our breakfast / meals there outside. Our room was very comfortable for the 4 of us. We stayed there 4 nights and enjoyed our time, felt very relaxing. We also we're able to park our car there no pb. Good internet. It's also very nicely located - on the only roads with good pavements to walk to the center (which is just a digestive walk away). There's also an OXXO close by to get water, and a supermarket. Absolutely recommend for a quiet, relaxing and comfortable stay in Bacalar! Nothing!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Everything was great, but what stood out the most was how attentive and responsive the staff were. They were always on site, ready to help, and truly went out of their way to make sure we had the best possible stay. We would happily come back.

Hostess was extremely helpful. The location was a little bit away from main plaza on the plus side if you like to stay away from the hustle and bustle it is a good place to stay. It was also very welcoming and friendly place to stay. It was clean and comfortable.

Kitchen could be a little better equipped

It has parking lot so you don't have to be worried about your car or motorcycle! ?

TV was too old, needs to be updated.

This is our 3rd stay at this property. Clean. Safe. It’s basic but you don’t go to Bacalar to sit in your room I love this property

Nice and quiet location, a walking distance to the center and other restaurants and beaches in the area. There is a little mini market and a few cafés right outside the hotel. The room is big and comfortable, the AC works very well. The staff is super friendly and will help you with anything you need. I planned to stay for 4 nights and eventually stayed for a week. Highly recommended! Medium-low water pressure in the shower.

Great place! Spacious and clean room, comfy mattresses, efficient and not too noisy AC. The garden is lovely and has hammocks to relax in. I would recommend this hotel! No option for breakfast, but there's an amazing brunch/lunch place across the street. The only inconvenience is that is doesn't open very early, so if you want breakfast at 7am because you have an early morning boat tour, I suggest you go to a bakery or something the day before

Nice residential area with few boutique hotels around. Comfortable and clean. We booked a king room ahead of time but none were available when we arrived so they put us in another room which was fine, but we were beside a 5 person group that stayed up drinking in their patio until 12:30 am and kept us awake. Obnoxious loud talking at 12:30am. So frustrating and annoying. We were moved to the king bed room the next day, and finally we got a good nights rest.

Our only real complaint was that their new wifi system didn't work well in the actual room.

The price for the room was good, but we encountered many issues with the accommodation. It's a basic place, beds aren't comfortable and pillows are crappy. We liked the hammocks and common area, but other than that, I really wouldn't recommend this place. We had booked two double rooms for our group of 6. When we checked in, the staff was adamant that we'd booked 1 double and 1 king room and that they were full and couldn't give us two double beds. Eventually he spoke to the owner and magically a double room had become free. My friend and I took that double room upstairs, but it looked like they hadn't cleaned it in awhile - there were pigeons living in the bathroom window and there was bird poop all over the floor; and our door didn't lock. We changed rooms the next day, but the room downstairs was not any better, the toilet didn't flush. All in all, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

nothing great about the property. could use an uplift. don’t let the pictures fool you. the front desk guy was very helpful in finding an extra room for the driver mosquitoes everywhere including in the hotel. pictures make it look better than it is. hard to get to the beach from this location
