We stayed in room 2 (twin room). Room was very clean and as described. Bed was comfortable. Location is fine, but having a car is definitely necessary to get to Bacalar centro. Host was responsive to messages. AC worked well. WiFi might as well not be available. It is completely unusable inside of the room. Host offered us 3 different networks to connect to, but none of them would stay connected to our devices (it dropped connection to our phones a few seconds after connecting, constantly). Outside it seemed to work, but not when you are inside the room. There was no garbage bag in the bathroom garbage (okay for us, but seems like it would make more of a mess for them). Shower water gets all over the bathroom floor. Bathroom door gets stuck on ground, making door difficult to open and close.

The property was nicely styled: minimal, concrete floors, white, grey and blue theme, nice furniture. Cynthia (owner/manager) was really attentive, kind and helpful. It was a little cold the first days I was there and she gave me extra blankets. She is very responsive to whatsapp messages, gave me information to get around, directions for my arrival, ordered a taxi for my departure and arranged a laundry service for me. The little kitchen has a fridge, hot water for coffee/tea, and drinking water. Important to have a car to stay here. For me personally, since I didn't have transport, the location wasn't ideal. I didn't realise when I booked that the property is on the highway with nothing around. I could rent a bike, or walk (if I didn't want to order a taxi) but both options involved crossing over and going down the highway/motorway for 10 mins to get to the road that goes along the lake (Costera). There are no shops, or anywhere for breakfast nearby, so I had to plan very carefully to ensure I didn't have to return to the hotel during the day. I'd always take a taxi back at night, and from the centre of town it costs 50pesos. The road is quite noisy and the room was quite damp.
