This was a great home base for us while we explored the Magic Town of Bacalar. Close to everything we needed- we could walk to the bank, grocery store, taxi stand, and the local fruteria. And having a mini-fridge was great, so we didn't have to eat out all the time. It was nice to have a coffee maker in the room, and any time we needed drinking water or extra dishes, we could wander down the hall to the little bar and find whatever we needed. It even had a microwave.

The location was very excellent The only thing I didn’t like was the water only lightly warm, no hot showers

How sweet to see the gorgeous town square every morning and evening while sipping coffee. The location is absolutely perfect. A short walk to the public beach, lots of amazing restaurants, and so cozy. We loved the bottles of water provided and the refill station on the patio upstairs. The rooms were well decorated and we always had a hot shower. Included with the stay, we were given daily entrance to the Mayan Beach Laguna club! Such a nice time to lay out in the sun and enjoy the beautiful property. All the staff were so kind and helpful. The birds, restaurants, and city landscapers all start making noise at 6:30 am, and it is quite loud. I’m a heavy sleeper but it still woke me up every day. I didn’t mind too much and was able to get back to sleep. The beds are quite small. I am 5’8” and my feet went over the edge. Our friend who is over six feet tall didn’t fit well. My husband and I ended up in separate beds even though the beds are supposed to be double. There wasn’t enough room for two tall people. The back stairwell to our room was unlit and had a lot of clutter and storage items. We ended up just usually walking the long way around in the front. But overall we would happily stay again.

The location is great, right on the main plaza. The room is clean and comfortable with a balcony. Hotel ‘s beach club is a little farther away, was told need a taxi ride. Although hotel guests would be allowed without entry fee, taxi fee would equal the cost to other beach club.

The hotel is right in front of the plaza! Great location ! You can hear the noise around and from other rooms but it wasn’t too bad since it was low season
-
Location and bed comfortable! Cleaning inside the room and comun area. Garbage disposal container located on the secondary staircase acces of the room ( room #2&3) and you can’t avoid the smell of it. Bathroom shower glass and sink dirty!

It was as I good central location opposite town square and half a block from lake ( not easy walking distance from ADO bus stop as it had said on web site - there is a new bus depot). Music from neighbouring restaurant had a good playlist and stopped at 11.00pm. Other music could be heard in the distance all night.

Stayed 5 nights at a studio with two queen beds and a balcony. Do not know why it was called a studio, as it was just a normal room with a desk, coffee maker and fridge. Beds and linen were comfortable, but the pillows a bit too thick for my taste. Bathroom was small with a tiny sink, but the shower stall was spacious. Good water pressure with enough hot water. Wi-Fi was fast and steady. Location was just beside the "zocalo", the main square and the fortress. In the evenings there was a lot of food stalls and vendors. Short distance from one of the public piers. Special thanks?to Tania at the front desk, who spoke excellent english and was very professional. TV screen at room #2 was on it's last leg, had a weird, colorful stripe going thru the screen. Hotel had big terrace overlooking the main square with a water dispencer. A luggage rack in the room was nice to have. Cleaning was not efficent. Also needed two times to ask more toilet paper. Trash bins were not emptied daily. Not sure if I had had to ask for it? Actually I did once. Desk was dusty. Only a table at the balcony with pidgeon poop on the top of it ?. No chair. There is a lot of pidgeons on the top of the next building so it's obvious they poop around.

Very clean, great location right at the central square, close to everything. Friendly and helpful staff. Management was very gracious when I accidentally broke something. A slight overuse of vanilla-scented deodorizer or cleaning products. Unnecessary in my opinion, since the place is very clean already.
