Room lacking natural/ bulbs lighting. Bedsheets with stains. Lack of attention to detail such as mini fridge and TV unplugged upon arrival.

Excellent location, clean rooms, super friendly staff and great value, what else can you ask for?

It was terrible, but it wasn’t great either. It was good enough especially compared to some other places I have seen. The bathroom situation is very interesting. It’s all open and the shower water goes everywhere. To me, it cost more than what it was worth. The front desk gentleman was very kind! The ceiling fan was very sketchy and full of dust. The “kitchen” sink was very dirty.

Good location, excellent person working there. Super clean facility, had all what we wanted, and an extra double bed. Super close to center and water sports. Car is parked in front of hotel and you can see it from the window from some rooms. Super safe and clean everything. I liked everything

-- spacious room -- comfortable bed -- decent shower -- quiet location -- nice manager -- cheap amenities -- no bed light -- old, stained, stinky towels (is detergent even used?) -- bedsheets are not fitted; so chaos in morning -- wifi not stable, weak -- streaming TV was awful -- overpriced!

It is clean, cosy pension with few rooms run by a Mexican couple. The owner is helpful but it is better if you speak Spanish. They can communicate English through translator though. The door gets closed at 10 pm, you still can go out but maybe it is not too comfortable if you want to go to party (the gate makes some noise). Other than that it was ok.

The staff is nice and location is decent The pictures are way too far from reality. Rooms are worn down, dark, everything is old and barely functioning

Nice for one night stay. A typical motel type place. Nice and clean. The owner was a real sweet old guy.

Very clean, comfortable beds, free water provided daily and a beautiful inner courtyard with chairs to eat or relax outside. Location was also great, a short walk to the Lagune or main plaza. Nothing, all great

Rolando was very helpful and always available. He suggested local restaurants and organized boat tour at good price. Nice garden with tables and chairs. Room very big. Quite location and close to the public pier. //

It is located really close to downtown and also the local beach and restaurants. The room was quiet which was a pleasant difference from Merida. It was clean with towels and shower gels. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The owner gave us a lot of tips on where to go and we booked a tour around laguna through him and we liked it a lot. I recommend it a lot!

Lovely place, in a great location, 5’ walk from the lagoon, 10’ to the town centre, meaning a lot of quiet yet close to everything (there’s even a little store next door which has almost everything). Rolando is one of the best host I ever had (and I travel a lot), always available, courteous, ready to help, full of recommendations (all great) and lovely to chat with (in Spanish). The room was lovely and clean, and we loved the patio so much that we even spent a couple of afternoon there, just reading our books under the banana trees with birds and squirrels running around. Wifi was fine, I had conference calls with no issues at all, shower was always perfect. Great value for the money, absolutely recommend it!

Struggling here. I guess the bed was comfortable. Surprised by the positive reviews on this site. Cute, elderly staff do not a good hotel make. I paid less for a far superior twin room with a lake view, free water and fully equipped full kitchen just days earlier, but had to move here to extend my stay in Bacalar. This is a rather disappointing alternative to my earlier, cheaper hotel room. The photos are inaccurate. It's more shabby than it looks in the photos. Stains on ceilings. A general photo shows pans on a stove, suggesting there's a kitchen, but kitchenettes are only in some rooms. There's a communal microwave. With rodent droppings nearby and no cutlery, plates or bowls. When I asked for such, the face of the lady turned sour as if I was asking for something exceptional. She did get some dirty utencils from a cupboard in a stockroom. With no facilities, I had to wash everything in my bathroom in shampoo! I would have picked another hotel had I known there was no kitchen. There's noise from reception from a TV and an annoying regular beep from a movement sensor. Pack earplugs. Room 1 is not quiet. It's right on the road with noisy vans and motorbikes passing. Lots of rude guests screaming across the courtyard to each other after 9pm and before 6am. No free water. No hand towel. No drinking glasses. No kitchen. 4% extra for card payments. Extremely disappointing.
