Hotel Waldhäusel

It was in a nice location, also the bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The breakfast was very good with a nice selection of items and freshly cooked eggs. We had dinner one night at the hotel and it was excellent. Although it is mentioned in the property summary that there are stairs to climb, for an older couple, they are almost undoable, very steep and very narrow. In addition, no one offered to assist with the luggage.

What a lovely place to stay in! A charming hotel just 30min walk (or 5 mins by bus/tram) from the Therme and the centre of Bad Schandau. Our rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. There are many touches to make this hotel cosy and unique. It is very conveniently placed on bus routes and the tram line and would make a great base to explore the area. Indeed the whole of the Malerweg trail could be easily accessed from here. The breakfast was varied and generous. We ate at the hotel and the 3 course menu was delicious every night. The host is fantastic; communication was excellent, checking in and out very easy. We’ve stayed in a number of lovely hotels in the area and this one was by far the best. I would definitely stay here again and thoroughly recommend it.

The hotel is located along main road with tram line. But the room was quite enough and very comfortable for us. The Malerweg is not far away as well as tram/bus stops. Free parking is additional benefit. But the most of all very nice contact to owners of the house who werevery helpful. Excellent breakfast and dinner.

Lovely idyllic hotel with a truly personal welcome and service. The building oozes character and charm: bedrooms modern, perfect size and facilities. Great breakfast. Dinners which can be had if pre-ordered are superb. The hotel is just above the road, which itself is quiet. Footpaths into the woods and mountains within a couple of minutes. Located just outside Bad Schandau, a 30 minute walk or 10 minutes by the famous tram which stops outside (bus also, but why use this!) We had no car, only used public transport, or walked - it was perfect. There is so much to see and do in and around Bad Schandau, and this is the perfect hotel to base yourself.

The hotel was traditional and comfortable. The family was extremely pleasant and warm. The hotel is located in a beautiful area. There was nothing to fault about our stay.

The property is immaculately maintained, comfortable, airy and spacious and has everything you would need away from home. I don’t believe there was anything to dislike.

The staff was very very kind and friendly. A true family business which is rooted in the area. Also, the room was very quiet and newly renovated. Breakfast was very good. Good link with public transport as well. Dinner (add additional charge) was very high quality local food. Albeit being situated on a seemingly big road, there practically no traffic and the area was quiet.

The cutest hotel we have ever been to. It is sourrounded by forest, there is a silence i have never heard of. You wake up to the sound of birds and nothing else. The family who owns this hotel is very welcoming, breakfast was great, room was spacious and clean, we had the best stay here. Hotel is quite far from the city center, but we had car, so we didn't mind.

We had a spacious but cozy room for us. Very friendly family business. We were there to hike for a few days and got some good recommendations by the owner. The property is on the edge of national park. With busses and the tram right in front of the house you don't even have to move your own car. All trails lead back to the main road which gives you the opportunity to easily jump on the bus/train back "home".

Superbly run family hotel with much pride and attention paid to details. Can recommend the dinner - be sure to book ahead.

Absolutely wonderful atmosphere in the fireplace room! A very delicious and refined dinner! We'll definitely come back again :)
